@@Alonex_033 I'm 45. I was an 80s 90s kid. I wonder if I would've liked this as a kid. Back then I could certainly appreciate monsters, robots, fantasy and sci-fi creatures, and bizarre worlds. I think after two episodes and seeing how different it is I would've liked it.
AFAIK when he introduce 'Tsun' family in the story (can't remember when) with tigh referrence to Hongkong & Taiwan flicks and this includes likeness to Bruce Lee / Jackie Chan. He began looking seriously into Chinese-themed Manga particuarly with Chinese Hype in Japan by that time (Televised Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Journey to the West, and several Wuxia dramas particularly adapations of Jin Yong and Gu Long novels) and thus this is when Dragon Ball begins (And finalizations of Dr. Slump was set in motion.. with Dr. Sembei finally married Midori) by the ending. And the story focused on fictionalized Earth, in Dragon Ball Toriyama even made clear that The Penguin Village (where Dr. Slump setting is) is actually in the Dragon Ball Universe, even in the same Dragon World (Earth's alternate name with significant differences in landscape), and had Goku raised in the same country where The Tsuns originated from, which also the same country where Frypan Mountain (Demon Ox King's Domain, also Chichi's home) is. Too bad The Tsuns didn't have much role in Dragonball, even so Tsun Jr. son resembles Yamcha much.
Rest in peace, Toriyama-sensei, you made the world brighter with your work, we will miss you :')
