Pd gets fast pass access to a lot of the content crims have to literally grind like it’s wow for the difference is they have rules and restrictions that come with that power. Unfortunately those rules have been misconstrued and abused to limit creativity and fun rp. The kind of people who were attracted to playing a cop are totally different from civs and esp crims and I think that consistently leads to the numerous issues pd has faced in its different forms. Esp when you get ppl who come into a system that’s already flawed and grind them into being complacent with silly draconian restrictions and consequences for being loose and having fun. Also I’m gay

In my opinion the problem is that the restrictions and rules have relied on the police... policing themselves for months now.
Even if an officer loses a case in a benchtrial / civil trial, nothing happens to the officer.
"Ah shoot! We'll get em next time. They got lucky today. You didn't do anything wrong. The judge was wrong." *Ruby pats officer's back* "Time to get back on the street."
I'd like to see what becomes of Angel's 3rd party that's looking at police officers. Because that seemed to be what we needed... someone who actually can police the police. Police have literally zero incentive to police themselves.

@@xiewang4637accountability for police would be good but I don’t like the idea of barring someone from playing their cop character entirely, arcs like cornwoods can be fun but some of the disciplinary stuff from at least early 4.0 was kinda silly

@@spacejambluray2591 Agreed. But what on earth has anyone convinced that there is a binary system? Employed / not employed.
Retraining, community service, fines, etc etc theres many roleplay promoting ways to address poor performance. None of which are currently being deployed.

@@spacejambluray2591 yeah that line of thinking is kind of poisonous as it states it’s default premise is you can’t punish cops because it’ll mess with their role-play, and that would be unfair to them somehow. That their role-play is guaranteed priority over everyone else they interact with regardless of what they choose to do. As if that’s some sort of sacred right that can never be infringed. Whereas that’s basically what cops do to criminals(because that’s their job), but somehow cops are immune to this process.

Yeah the majority of cops fundamentally don’t understand how the city works, and get coddled by all the freebies and handouts that come with being a cop and use that as a enormous crutch that keeps them afloat in role-play basically by giving them insane mechanics and equipment and powers…. When they should really be honing their skills and knowledge to improve themselves but PD equipment is so overpowered that they always are able to scrape by regardless of how bad they are mechanically. The main two culprits are the indestructible vehicles with insane acceleration, and The ability to just spam Ifaks, to basically negate the whole injury system by making them basically invincible but the rest of the city has to deal with like going to the hospital because…. only two days ago did medical supplies get finally added/unlocked for some criminals.
