- The team behind MY POLICEMAN in conversation with TIFF in advance of its premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. This tale of forbidden romance and changing social conventions follows three people - policeman Tom (Harry Styles/Linus Roache), teacher Marion (Emma Corrin/Gina McKee), and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson/Rupert Everett) - and their emotional journey spanning decades.

While watching the film, I can't stop myself from loving the elegant, passionate and lively Patrick that David portrays with his fantastic performance. And now, seeing him as a person, I adore how polite, genuine and GORGEOUS he is. Davis looks like a little prince here. The film brings so much emotion to me. My Policeman team is a chef's kiss 🤌

Very much looking forward to seeing this film. As a film based on an acclaimed book, I really want to see the book become a living and breathing moment in time. So nice to see Harry speak thoughtfully about his cast mates -- it's a very different world from DWD!...

My Policeman I fully enjoyed & it rightfully depicted both Relationships during this time -- It was Elegant Insightful Educational Thoughtful The Script well Written & Directed -- The Love Triangle -- You came away with such Empathy for the Characters -- All the Actors did an Amazing Job I hope they all receive the accolades well deserved

I'm a little confused by the casting. Is Linus playing Harry and Rupert playing David? It seems like (height wise) it should be the other way around. 🤔🤔
Yes ,I don't get it.Watching the movie it seems incongruous.
I kept wanting Rubert to be Tom.He's physically more suited to resemble an older Tom,and the same with Linus playing Patrick.
Linus really made a very believable older Tom, even walking and speaking like him.
On the other hand, Rupert has a much bigger build and is much taller than David. Totally wrong look.
There is no way that a small grown man, as Patrick was in the beginning, could
have grown 5 inches in height, grown much bigger bones, and have his facial structure change so much, nor could he go from “a smooth man” to “a (VERY) hairy man.” !
This was really jarring, as his look was the only way he really had to embody Patrick, due to the stroke limiting movement and speech.
Gina was a perfect match to Emma as Marion.
Loved the film. I didn’t get a ticket to the premiere, but was waiting outside when Harry came out to the exterior red carpet before the screening. Such a cutie in that green suit and corsage. I had a ticket for the screening two days later.
I’ve watched it 4 more times on Amazon Prime.
I did like DWD, enough to watch it 3 times.

he literally is an actor though… you don’t have to be in a million movies to be considered an actor and this is his 3rd one… and you don’t know what he is. he’s not gay but he is queer, and that’s something he’s openly spoken about before. The movie doesn’t highlight him, it highlights a really important perspective from a really important time period and he just so happens to play one of the main characters. it sounds like you’re just bitter and like you don’t know anything about the cast lmao
Harry is gay and has been married to his ex-bandmate for 10 years. It is an open secret. That is why he fought to get this role.
Everett should have played Tom and Dawson should have played Patrick.

It brings me the story of E.M.Forster, Mr Dawson is wonderful, as well as harry &Emma , wish people free to love , and loved couple free to marry each other with no pressure from any aspect of society. It is already 21st century for god sake.💚🩵
