The dialogue was terrible, the acting was terrible and the 'equipment ' was so bad....however it was still better than anything made today. I wonder what the budget was .
Hell yeh. This is a recipe for a cult classic. Sure, Ben Stiller, Christopher Walkin, Owen Wilson, Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta etc. could have been in but the cheeky selfish bastards were out to lunch. Sometimes you just got to roll with whatever's around. They did a great job. Ever seen John Carpenter's films?
His tubes are a little lower? So how many aliens are there roaming around the San Fernando Valley with tubes that it would make a difference if its tubes were higher or lower? Love this movie!
32:18....Maybe you can explain this but if I miss my guess these guys won't have any children anytime soon. They call themselves doctors and they can't even figure out Geiger Counter readings that went past Mt Everest.
Raynor & Wilder {W. Lee was his father} later wrote numerous episodes of "WILD BILL HICKOK", "BACHELOR FATHER", "McHALE'S NAVY", "GET SMART", "THE DORIS DAY SHOW", "INCH HIGH- PRIVATE EYE", "THE ADDAMS FAMILY" (animated), and "THE DUKES OF HAZZARD".
Interesting intriguing story, HD very good, colorisation good too with good fleshtones. The aliens biggest mistake was not silencing that yapping dog while they seem to be running a lot around a beautiful Art-Deco cinema!
Excelente Película, Se Ve Muy bien Con Audio En inglés Y Con Subtitulos Y Sin Ese Acento Español Molesto y Sin Ese Zoom Molesto. Las Películas Antiguas Son Las Mejores Las De Ahora Nunca Las Superarán.
Mysterious phantom in bizarre outfit attacking people in the Valley? Happens every day, my darlings, ha ha ha ha. Yeah well, nothing happens in this one, but it's a "fun bad movie", so it's good for riffing. Many cigarettes were smoked. At least it had a lady scientist (pointlessly mixing things in beakers; it's like she was cooking), so that made this drive-in spectacular cutting edge.
The ‘color’ is distracting, it would be better in b/w. Their faces turn gray every now and then. OSHA red alert, handling radioactive material in a wool suit and tie. Low budget cool sci-fi, I’d say it’s s noir-fi.
Que linda película de ciencia ficción como me encanta las películas antiguas nunca llegué a ver en la televisión blanco y negro recién hoy en día lo veo muchas gracias ❤
@@lilblackduc7312 I get that, and I get that sometimes you need more rope, and that audiences are not particularly scientifically literate. It's just a comment.
Hell yeh, we got ourselves a sequel. Tho, for continuity, we need to make sure ther phone stays charged... every scene would need a charging port, for the refills.
@@geraldnix-k2k dunno. I'd have to watch the movie again, see where my brain was at when i wrote it. Bloody dreadful - loved every minute of it except for Venus' incessant barking. Audio was great so didn't have to use the CC - I wish more channels paid attention to their audio.
But you still watched it right? And validated it's brilliance with a comment. Sure, you may never watch it again... or will you? There's always some kinda charm with these old movies.
So many movies i have seen, they are in rooms or walking down hallways. Where are the toilets? How do they relieve themselves? Is there a bucket in the corner of every room? What do they eat? When do they eat? Does no-one get hungry? Where are the kitchens? Sorry, not very sci-fi, just thinking of the practicalities.
So rather than take his helmet which he needs to breathe, he takes the girl, traipses around the lab, returns to the room and gets his helmet. I guess our fear of aliens be superior is off base.
When I was 8 or so, my DAD bought a used 47 Chevy as a second car. That is when I began to repair cars. We repainted it with a paint brush. The engine was easy to work on, but a brake job was a horror show! Db
😂This is hideous 17:03.....It appears to be a diver with firecrackers coming out of his helmet....😀How the hell can this guy be on the loose and not be captured yet? There can only be one or maybe two people in the world who can fit that kind of description. 🤣🤣🤣
The first 5 minutes of this movie they tried to do a rip off of "The Day The Earth Stood Still"....But instead it came out "The Day The Earth Understood this was a rip off Of The Day The Earth Stood Still".
@@markflint2629 Nah I checked was made in 51.....this 💩was made in 53. Both films sequence following the UFO'S with radar. 😆 And both films the military were slow letting our 👽friends entering with carte blanche.
It's a simple film, but the simple things are what leave the most impressions on the memory.
It had a strange kind of realism to it. Loved the dialogue and masculine energy. Good ‘ol days!

Buck fifty with volunteers cast. Wasn't this a comedy ?
God knows what you've been watching.
If thats the case you cant watch much these days. 😄
For a few dollars more.... 😅

Décidément des vieux films SF! Je me suis fait plaisir de les suivre! Merci pour le partage, avec les salutations de France. 😉
Great old sci-fi classic, except for when the dog starts barking relentlessly . . . Narrator's voice is top drawer

Actually the tubes seemed higher than in the drawing. Can't trust eyewitnesses! :-)

The director was channeling his inner Ed Wood Jr. on this one.
Just what I was thinking!

That's my favorite Martian but what did he do with Will Robinson?
Once again we could of unlocked the mysteries of the universe but instead.....who's going to believe us.

amazing how many of these actors smoked then
Sou muito fã de filmes sobre alienígenas, discos voadores das décadas de 1950/60.

How does an "electric eye" detect an invisible man?
By checking his current position ?
Infrared heat detection?
@@lilblackduc7312 Thought of that, but they have no data on thermal emissions.

Adolescent, even for 70 years ago. No plot, no directing, no dialog. Except for the dog.
I guess they left the best part until last
Actually, they left the best part out.
I like how the alien immolated when it died. It was probably copied from the " Invaders " tv series.
God help the poor alien that lands a role in a movie on Earth. Humans will hunt and destroy them every time.
The older films of this era are far better the ones we have with high tech effects. Use the acronym of KISS. (Keep it so simple).
Just chuck your litter on the floor boys. The alien will pick it up.
Great comedy

The docudrama style is distracting from the movie. There were a lot of similar movies that were pure propaganda.
