You know the Philippines has the longest direct colonial history with Mexico over Spain because Spain had Nueva Espana (pre independent Mexico) do ALL of the administrative work on the Philippines during the Galleon Trade years, 1560s-1821. Because of this, the Philippines picked up most of this Spanish influence from Nueva Espana rather than Spain. To this day, after having visited many global regions, this is still one of my very favourite global regions. Mexico is so stunning & Mexico City is just wonderful! It's literally everything, that I fell in love with & it was a truly epic cultural experience/exchange for me. The wonderful peoples, the excellent food (which was some of the very best I've eaten), the culture, the spectacular natural scenery, which literally blew my mind! The ambiance & vibe was always wonderful & I remember feeling so safe, so welcome & so @ home. I never felt scared or unsafe & I will definitely fly back some day in the near future. I really think & feel, that Mexico is a true hidden gem & still underrated, yet, so full of awesome experiences & places awaiting more visitors. I now live/work in Australia, but flew back to my native Norway just over one month ago & although I was very happy & excited to be home, I was still thinking & dreaming about Mexico, not to mention it's superb warmth. It's people & it's wonderful climate, especially during my April to May stay. I love you Mexico & Thank you for making my stay so very warm, welcoming & enjoyable. As a result, such great memories created for me & I yearn to return to your wonderful shores. Peace✌X

The difference between Coca Cola in the USA and Mexico and the Philippines is USA uses artificial sugar and those other countries use natural cane sugar... BIG difference
Hey Zane, I enjoyed your video, it gives me a perspective of almost being there. Couple tips for your next time in Mexico, learn these 3 greetings. 1. "Buenos Dias" = Good morning. 2. "Buenas Tardes" = Good Afternoon, and 3. "Buenas Noches" = Good evening. Those 3 sayings are a more local way of connecting , you can say those to anyone on the street, vendors, cashier's etc. Usually most people will reply with the same words and it kind of brings a good vibe with the people. It's a good way to start a conversation as well. I usually get a 95% response back with the same greeting. It's just the way people say hello to each other. Oh and tip # 2. Hey you can always haggle on prices when buying things off vendors on the street, it's almost expected. So if they say $40 pesos, you can offer $30 etc. Especially for higher priced items say some super nice souvenir costs $250, you can barter with $200. Just pretend to walk away and it's 50/50 shot that they will sell it to you for the lower price. Keep up the good videos!
No country is perfect, but i'm glad you got to visit and experience a positive side of our country. I love how open and eager you are to try out everything out there. Coming all the way from Europe must have been great to finally set foot on the ground. i'm going to watch the rest of the Mexico series to see what other places you visit.
Yeah, you should pre-tell your community where you are going, you walked past some awesome eating places, and the night life of where you were at. It was nice to see from a perspective of someone not knowing what to expect, how you found and tasted different kinds of "food" like the blue chips and the philadelphia gordita. Best of travels!
You brought back memories from the last time I was there, probably my favorite city in the world, and there's too much to see yet! Don't forget to ask Tacos de Canasta and Tacos de Pastor.
You were at the Glorieta Insurgentes, that big round area where people sell things. Glorieta means roundabout. A little bit of trivia, that roundabout was where the taxi scene from Total Recall was filmed with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Most of the scenes were filmed in CDMX.
Mexico City is a cosmopolitan city full of culture. There are great museums, monuments and buildings. The streets are vibrant, and the food is delicious!!! And it´s safe here. I didn´t feel like when I had to drop supplies in schools.
I love DF! I think the name of the other community you're looking for is Polanco. It's funny - i was going to recommend bosque de Chapultepec amd saw that you were wandering through it! You should check out the castle up there and the upside down flute players outside the national museum. Also look into going to the zocalo. And Coyacan! Super cute little community full of artists and classic buildings. Great place to pick up local art. It's an awesome city - hope you love your time there! Also, queso is pronounced "keso" not "kweso". 😂 I know, it's not your native language. Way to be brave enough to go, though, without knowing the language. In many of the nicer areas there will be at least a few young people that can help translate if you get super stuck!
Amigo bienvenido a México, te recomiendo que pruebes el mango con chile Tajín, es chile en polvo pero es muy bueno, el chamoy también pero el Tajín también es bueno en el mango o en otra fruta. That circle square at minute 25' was a location for Schwarzenegger's movie "Total Recall"
The strawberry you thought was in the mangos was probably plum.
I think It was Tajin and Chamoy.
@@marcomorales1095 Exactly. Isn't chamoy plum?
DE HECHO ES CHAMOY UNA MESCLA DE CHILE AZUCAR Y TOQUE DE SAL Y LIMÓN.
Try the restaurant La Casa de Toño, the torta de chilakin And welcome to Mexico
You were at the Glorieta Insurgentes, that big round area where people sell things. Glorieta means roundabout. A little bit of trivia, that roundabout was where the taxi scene from Total Recall was filmed with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Most of the scenes were filmed in CDMX.
Mexico City is a cosmopolitan city full of culture. There are great museums, monuments and buildings. The streets are vibrant, and the food is delicious!!! And it´s safe here. I didn´t feel like when I had to drop supplies in schools.
Are you going to visit the rest of Latin America Zane? Im excited about it.
That wasn't guac though. it was salsa with a bit of avocado in it. Enjoy
Your eyes while trying out food just brightened up.
The rule is where you see a lot of people in a place to eat, that's the good one.
The difference between Coke in the USA is that it has corn sugar and Mexican Coca Cola has canesugar.
welcome to Mexico, i hope its a beautiful trip
I love Mexican foods
You need to try Mole its made from spices and chocolate.
Why do Western foreigners expect that Mexico will cater the entire country to them in English 😂
Fresa/Strawberry. U is silent in Queso. Cuanto-How much? U is not silent here.
México lindo ❤
Mexico City my born and race plays 🥺🥹 I miss it 😪 ❤❤
Saludos.
Good as always
Te amamos
Mango con chile, is a chile powder lime, and chamoy is so good with mango or cucumbers, carrots, pineapple.. etc fruit and veggies 🎉 ❤
The man playing the musical instrument is an organillero, he plays the organo like a piano, but rolling round and round

If you need a translator, certain phones translate like the Pixel and Samsung. And I think even just using Google lens. It's possible iPhone has a similar feature too. If you travel a lot, a Pixel phone with the Google Fi network is nice. I used to be on that network. I'm enjoying your video and I miss Mexico! Samsung is also good for translation especially the S24!
