The one who wrote this song named Han, and back then he wasn't able to participate to their schedule due to his anxiety. Han is an introverted person and rather keep things to himself, but he's imaged is very different when his comfortable. Us fans known him as the loud, talkative, and the jokester of the group. I recommend you to listen to the song called "SLUMP" -(The First Take) which he goes back writing songs again after his short hiatus. He explained being stuck and all the things he loves to do like producing/writing music doesn't make him happy anymore and don't have any motivation to do so. Check out more of their songs! like "Streetlight" by changbin which talks more about depression and mental health, "Alien" also by Han. Again, they wrote their own songs. Thanks for your genuine reaction to them

Stray Kids have always made it a point to make songs that address mental health issues and any sort of life struggles by writing about them. A LOT of their earlier music touches on topics such as growing pains, fears about adulthood, struggling with climbing in the music industry, struggling with confidence, etc. I’m really glad you’re admiring their lyricism, because it’s always been a strong point for them as far as musicality goes. Some songs you may want to check out that touch on sensitive topics are:
Hellevator - a predebut song, talks about how much they struggled mentally and physically to prepare themselves to become idols and how every day felt like a battle they’d never escape
Grow Up (!!!) - made for STAY, a song that expresses that even though it may be hard, you’re doing a good job just doing your best, and that one day you’ll be able to look back with a smile
My Pace - about learning that doing things at your own speed is better than trying to match the pace of those around you, live your life the way you’re meant to
Voices - a song about how our inner voices make it hard to stop judging ourselves and trying to break free from the harsh standards we hold ourselves to
Scars (!!!) - their most recent release, a song that talks about how the hardships and pain they endured on the path to fame will always be a part of them and that they’re proud of their “scars”
Streetlight (Changbin) (!!!) - Changbin wrote the lyrics this song himself to express feelings of loneliness when it comes to struggling with mental health. He also included a small shout out to the Blue Tree Foundation, a mental health organization in South Korea
Thank you SO MUCH for appreciating Stray Kids for the artists that they are. I can’t wait to see more from your journey with them in the future!!

This song is composed and written mainly by Han Jisung (one of 3RACHA, a Stray Kids member), the blonde guy that opens the song. He has quite bad anxiety (he was not active in the group for a while for his anxiety) and he has written many songs related to himself. His anxiety, his sense of alienation from others etc.
He is also a very introverted and shy person, he can be very quiet when he is with people he was not familiar with. Han Jisung is homeschooled for a while and completed his GED young. He songs are very personal. You can try Han - Alien, SKZ - Sunshine, SKZ - Another Day, tbh all the songs he composed and wrote tbh. They are all relatable, the reason why I love his songs so much.
Another one that hits deep is Changbin - Streetlight. It is a very sad song. I love their deep meaningful songs. I would recommend 3rd Eye too.
Others mental health related by SKZ (Stray Kids) - Voices, Side Effects, Insomnia.

Stray kids have always had mental health at the forefront of not only their music but also how they interact with fans. They try to be pretty open with us to show that we aren’t alone and it’s okay to talk about it. The group’s leader, Bangchan, does weekly lives called Channies room where he gives music recommendations but also listens to fans and gives advice and/or comfort where he can. He has insomnia so he often does them pretty late at night so that others that are up late don’t feel so alone. And with him being Australian he does it in a mix of English and korean so the whole fandom can interact live with out having to wait for translations. They’ve really created a wonderful safe space.

They also never use gendered terms in their songs and are definitely LGBTQ supporting. Chan and Hyunjin (orange and long black hair) along with Han have been very open recently about their struggles. Hyunjin just went through something fairly difficult and he came back with a vengeance, but he was also clear and open about how much he was mentally affected by it.

The member himself (Han) wrote this song few years ago. Sadly yes he’s been through anxiety, exactly during the time he wrote this song. As a fan i remember that time he was being absent but force himself to join a fansign event, the leader ask fans to understand if Han suddenly want to go back. Han at that time bravely saw fans again, his members keep checking on him whether he’s okay or not. Once the fansign ended, all the managers and staffs behind the stage come to him and make an applause for him smiling so proud at him. Thankfully his environment was really healthy and supportive to him 🥺

I love that the STAY Fandom listed the songs that they did... I feel that shows how much the fans understand them. Probably because most of us can relate. I know I can. I have a severe anxiety disorder, heck, I actually fell down the Stray Kids rabbit hole because of Han and his story. I feel like almost anyone who listens to this song, and many of their other tracks, will likely find them relatable in some way.
I will however say that I do worry about our "always far too strong for their fans as well as their own good" young men. I know they still struggle with a lot. From sleep problems to borderline agoraphobia. I get it, 100%... but I know I would rather they took care of themselves first and foremost and maybe even find a little more of their inner happy, than to ever receive another song like this from them.

They have so many amazing songs that involve mental health. Even their pre debut song ‘Hellevator’ is about depression and going through a kind of hell during training to reach the top and debut. Chan’s wrote the song ‘Insomnia’ because he has insomnia, ‘voices’ is about people filling your head with negative voices, ‘Mirror’ is about figuring out who you are when you don’t know whilst others keep trying to tell you who you are. There are so so many great songs that have deeper meanings when you look into the lyrics. They also have lighter positive mental health messages in their songs, such as ‘My Pace’ which reassures people that even if others look like they are getting everything they want and getting it really quickly, it’s ok to go at your own pace to follow your dreams. If you decide to keep going into Stay Kids discography (I hope you do) you will have a large catalogue of really interesting songs to choose from.

Stray Kids write and produce their own music. That makes it easier for them to talk about topics on a more personal level, and make songs to not only comfort themselves but other people too. Here are some titles that talk about those topics that maybe you would like to react to:
Streetlight by Changbin: it's a solo song where he sings about the feeling of sadness and loneliness when you let everyone rely on you but you have noone to comfort you.
Insomnia: as the title says, it talks about insomnia, the leader struggles with that so he made a song for people who has it too don't feel alone and can relate to it.
Side Effects: the side effects of growing up and changing as much as the things around you do.
Levanter: the sense of freedom when you let go something you thought you needed but only was pulling you backwards.
Voices - it's a song about how the voices around you try to put you down and the attemp to fight them
M.I.A: they talk to themselves and try to find out why they've changed too much to the point they don't recognize who they are now
Slump: the feeling of depression and that you are being left behind
Another day: Han Jisung has his way to make into lyrics everyday depressing thoughts without making them sound too depressing.
Silent cry: it's them telling us to not hide our feelings, to cry when we need to instead of just bearing with everything alone.
Alien by Jisung: where he uses the metaphor of an alien for being alone and the feeling that you don't belong where you are.

I'm 21 and Stray Kids is one of my favorite groups because since the beginning (2018) I related to the stories they told in their songs. Their songs talk about mental health, youth, the end of adolescence, etc. (something that sometimes sounds scary).Their first albums I AM NOT, I AM WHO and I AM YOU, talk about finding themselves, first, they realize that they're not what they thought they were and what the society expected them to be (I am not), then they try to find out who are they (I am who) and at the end, they realize that they're just themselves, and at the same time they're us (I am you) and that's okay. I hope you keep reacting to their songs and give your opinion about it. ^^

Han wrote this piece (the first one who sang in the video). I absolutely love his works including "Alien" a solo he sang, released in a playlist called SKZ Player. He also wrote "Sunshine" from the album Clé: Levanter and "Another Day" from GO Live which were also about exhaustion. He was I think diagnosed with anxiety disorder last year and has to take a break from group activities, so maybe it's one of his inspiration for his songs.
Anyway, this is my favorite song from NOEASY album cause it's just deep. I'm also a nonbinary so I get it, the feeling of being misunderstood by everyone. Thanks for reacting to SKZ's music ❤️ you made my day

This is a Han Song. The very first singer is Han. You paused on him singing, "I'm getting more and more exhausted," and very correctly pointed out that whomever wrote these words has _clearly_ gone through this. As one of the three producers and one of the two main lyricists, Han writes most of their songs in conjunction with Changbin and Chan. But when we get a Han Song, it's like this. Others would be stuff like SLUMP, Another Day, 19, Alien (one of his solo releases), Sunshine, I See (as J.One, part of the 3RACHA predebut rap subunit). Han wrote Secret Secret during one of his dark periods when he was having a hard time and literally went off in semi-seclusion for several days to ruminate and write. I mentioned in the last vid that Han has depression cycles; he's mentioned how that can factor into his art.
As for masks, Han is one _the_ most likely members to mask. He's the acknowledged comedian and moodmaker of the group, and he's genuinely hilarious. But you're probably more conscious than most of how often the Funny One feels things most deeply, overthinks, is in pain. Humor can be an excellent mask and distraction. There's a few times we've even managed to see him accidentally caught doing it, when he'll be visibly down in the background of a video, but the moment he realizes the camera is there, he flips the On switch and turns into Robin Williams (and yeah, I mean that comparison specifically for the mental-health connotation). He's an introvert with anxiety and recurrent depressive episodes who's in one of the most visible, hypercontrolled, judgmental, toxic industries on the planet. Even some of the members worry about him specifically, even when he's in an ok period. One of the members is his Person and subtly (kinda) acts as his safety blanket/touchstone in a lot of situations without making an obvious production out of it.
I don't stan groups or people. I'm a grown-ass adult who didn't do that even when I was a kid, and I have little interest in or energy for spending my limited mental resources on strangers, let alone celebrities. I went looking for exactly ONE kpop group to listen to and researched who would be the safest, most welcoming group for a queer person whose mental health was in meltdown (because I've been through this sh1t before and know when my brain needs a focus to keep going). What I found with SKZ was a group of artists willing to be unpopular (and oh, they SO are, among a disproportionately large number of people) if it means they can make the music that represents them and helps them relate with others and gives both them and listeners support to keep going.
And all this relating between them and us? It works. Not just them giving Stay support, but Stay trying to return it. At this very moment, Chan (the leader, the one with orange hair in this vid) is having an increasingly tough time with his mental health (remember: they're open about it; he's been talking about it directly to Stay on bubble), and Stay are getting even more worried about him than usual. So the entire fandom is mobilizing to do what they can and send him a mass slam of love and support in a coordinated hit in a few days. It won't "fix" anything, but that's not the point. Sometimes what can help you push through to the next day is the reminder that you're not alone or unappreciated, that your mind can be lying to you, that your worth is intrinsic. Chan (and others in SKZ, or the group as a whole) have literally saved some people's lives, whether with their music or with the connections they make with fans or, in Chan's case, with going live every single week just to give people a safe place for a couple hours. And people want to return that support, as human beings seeing a fellow person struggling, especially when that struggling person is the reason some people are even still around.

I don't normally read long comments like this because I have the attention span of a shoe. But this was so well written and so true. When I think of people who are extroverts on the outside and funny and moodmakers like you said, I think of Robin Williams and plenty of other people who have this type of personality, including me. I had a friend in high school who was like this and he ended up khs because of his internal depression and anxiety and hiding it. Just like Shawn says, therapy is worth it, but I should take my own advice and find someone to talk to who is not biased or there to judge. Anyway, I hope you're having a good day and thank you again for writing this.

He is known as an ace of the 4th generation of kpop because he can do just about anything. A couple more songs by him are Slump, Alien, 19, and Gone Away which is a unit song with two other members of the group. More songs that would be good to react to are Streetlight (a solo song by Changbin of skz), Don’t Want to Admit (solo song by Chan of skz), Silent Cry, Hellavator, Chronosaurus, Voices, and MIA.

I go through bouts of what I call “functional depression.” It’s where I fake being okay, and I am to other people, but at home I’m in bed all day, only getting the bare minimum done to get by in my professional life.
I’m not depressed about anything in general, I just am. Medicine helps, but sometimes it has taken me months to years to get help. I’m cognizant of my condition now and am working to be more proactive before I get to the not taking a shower or getting out of bed level of depression. I also have general anxiety and ADD, so these things all go together.
I love Stray Kids. Also, I’m here at 2:30 a.m. watching this. I’m up for the rest of the day. What you said about memories absolutely explains why I have such poor memory. Nobody ever explained that to me. Thanks for that.

my understanding of Han's explanation as to why/how he wrote this song is that he wanted to write a song to make people who are going through this kind of thing simply feel heard and less lonely but that's not really about fixing anything a song that's just there so that people can know that others have been through this and they're not alone

Hi! I appreciate this video so so much especially as a Psychology student and a STAY (Stray Kids' fan name) myself. What I like about them is absolutely THIS side of them. Their lyrics are always close to home. In fact, even if one doesn't relate to it on a personal level, the awareness that "oh, this happens" just says a lot. I love how their songs are not that complicated to take it because the emotion they are trying to deliver is very well-delivered and sung. Secret Secret is personally my favorite on this album too, along with Silent Cry (which Stays believe to be the answer to Secret Secret, you'll understand why when you listen/watch it). Personally, I'm not sure if someone already recommended it, I would also suggest reacting to or watching it on your own time, the song Streetlight. The song is a solo song by Changbin, also a member of Stray Kids/3racha, he also wrote the lyrics for it.
Ps. The feeling I had when you were talking about THE ONE who wrote the song and THAT PERSON was actually flashed on the screen is really unexplainable hshs
Again, thanks for a great video! It felt like I was taking my lecture in Abnormal Psychology while watching~ Let's continue spreading mental health awareness and educate/ help people about it. ❤️

as i’m watching your reaction, i keep thinking of the songs that mean a lot to me. most of them were part of that feeding cycle you mentioned but some are uplifting.
    - ‘over’ by epik high (tablo solo)
“you are an overachiever, do what it takes til it takes everything you are”
    - ‘breathe’ by lee hi
that song was just beautiful. unfortunately, the one who wrote it, jonghyun, passed away.
    - ‘let me out’ by jonghyun
after he passed away i couldn’t help but think that song was an obvious cry for help.
“someone please hold me, I’m exhausted from this world/someone please notice my struggles first/please help me”
    - ‘i need somebody’ by day6
fun fact: day6 is a band (like a real band that plays their own instruments). i think the title of the song speaks for itself
    - ‘end of a day’ by jonghyun
“you did a good job. you worked so hard.” just a healing song to listen to and let go of all your burdens.
    - ‘zombie’ by day6
there’s a korean and an english version for this and i think both are worth checking out.
“i feel like i became a zombie/with an empty head and an empty heart/a scarecrow without a brain inside/since when have i ended up like this?”
came out around the time of the pandemic and this was so what we needed
    -‘help’ by 10cm
“is everyone the same as me but holding it in? or am i the only bad person?”
i just love this one so much
-‘try again’ by jaehyun and d.ear
“we’ll be alright. please try again”
i’ll stop here because i’ve listed quite a lot. if anyone else has any songs to add, post them here for people who need it :)

my first listen to Secret Secret i had tears in my eyes... really.
i cannot even explain it but just listening to a stray kids track just hits different.. like, i think it connects more to a lot of people cos they were the ones who made it base from their own experience, theyre not afraid to show us their vulnerable side apart from their songs that are def bangers.. their discography is just pure, raw emotions that is so relatable? listening to a stray kids track greatly affects my mood.. i dont know they just have this effect on me.
im just so proud of this group, they have a way with words and the track itself just carries so much you can probably tell what theyre singing even if you dont read the trans just basing it on the melody...
i recommend you to listen to 'Scars', 'Slump', Voices, 'Wish You Back (HAN), Streetlight (CHANGBIN), Hate to Admit (BANG CHAN), and all of their MIXTAPEs, plus my biggest pick-me-up song 'Grow Up' if you have the time.. thank you 💛

though I try to change something
I can’t seem to do anything
And I’ve got nothing left here with me

I thinking their songs are sooo relatable and healing to us. But also, some lyrics are a bit hard to understand since they use something else to describe certain situation. @mi_latibule1011 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

i don't know what to feel honestly when i first heard this song. the melody was so calming and the lyrics are very relatable, it made me burst out crying whenever i hear it. When I need a good cry I turn this on together with the songs that is related to mental health. But everytime I remember that Han wrote the lyrics of this song, It hurts me more because he is such a precious one, and as a stay i know how talented he is as an individual and he does not deserve to undergo something that is too painful, then i will suddenly remember his social anxiety and my train of thoughts doesn't stp there. If a non stay watch their vids they will probably think han is a happy-go-lucky guy, and that i what my firt impression as well, as he clearly lift up the mood and his sense of humor is amazing. that made me think that even tho he carries that role in skz it doesn't mean that he is not having those worries and such, because everyone hase their own silent battles to fight and each of us has our own vulnerability. and that made me feel so proud because he is s strong. But the fact that i can relate to this and the whole reason why I am crying when i hear this song and their other song like Alien, Streetlight, Grow Up, Insomnia ang many more is because i am experiencing it as well makes it more painful than before.

I think I mentioned in one of the other reactions that they have a number of songs relating to Mental health, which I have seen mentioned in other comments. 3rdEye is amazing Voices and Side Effects are all great. Their latest Japanese comeback is the song Scars that they did on the First Take channel. It is about the pains and struggles they went through to get where they are.

Thank you for doing such a deep dive into this song! It meant a lot to me. I became a Stay specifically for their deeply relatable & non-gendered lyrics (and of course bc they've never made a bad song).
Everyone's given you great recommendations of emotionally heavy songs, so I'm definitely here for more Doctor Psynergic Therapy Reactions! 🌈

i really appreciate you going in depth with the lyrics and everything, and i appreciate you for your work in the field of mental health as someone who has struggled with mental illness my entire life and been in therapy since i was a child. as other people have said, stray kids have always been pretty open about their mental health, especially in their music, so i think you'll really like them ❤️
on another note since you mentioned that you're gay, stray kids are very supportive of the lgbtq community! the whole reason i decided to stan them a few years ago was because they were hanging out at NYC pride haha. a lot of us stays are also in the lgbtq community and skz always make us feel safe and loved :') personally i think some of their lyrics can relate to lgbtq experiences as well

Don't tell anyone else - but I'm actually looking at potentially doing a whole video on Stray Kids and their support of the LGBTQ+ community 😉🤫

I suggest reacting to “the view”, it also talks about mental health like being in a really dark place but eventually finding the light.
I also suggest “scar” the first take version. It’s their recent Japanese release. This song is very dear to me, as I was comforted by this when i was going through something

Btw, if you love these type of songs, I'm pretty sure the comments already told you that it's written by Han which is one of the member of stray kids. The song he wrote are basically everyone's favourite. And if you wanna react to more of the song he wrote it himself, this is the list of the songs:
Slump, Sunshine, Another day, 19, CALL, Close, Alien, Wish you back, Happy, I Got It
I don't think I miss anything else. But there's an upcoming song called Winter Falls that is written by him which will come out on 29/11

Stray Kids Changbin also has a song called "Streetlight" and it's soooo good as well! The lyrics are sad but still so beautiful, it'll be great if you can react to it :)

I just jumped from Ur cherry magic reactions not realising it was the same person 😳
But yessss stray kids and their mental health focused songs are sooo beautiful especially the ones Han's produced or wrote lyrics for (which is also the same guy u keep calling cute & when Ur praising the lyricism U also stopped right at him 😂) .I love when ppl talk about mental health so I definitely loved U analysing it. I love how the song stays depressing. it was probably written in the moment as a way to express how he felt. To me the lyrics show someone who is at their wit's end with dealing with depression and resorts in trying to ignore their depression, emotionally numbing themselves ('washing away' their feelings) and putting on that mask. They usually make inspiring songs to help ppl struggling with mental health but I'm glad this one is just smthn relatable. Like to me it's realistic in the way where when Ur depressed U kinda have no hope and the lyrics were about his lack of hope in it getting better and instead hoping he will be able to get used to the feeling of having depression so it will hurt less.AND THAT'S JUST SO DEPRESSING but it's so relatable

Thanks TH-cam algorithm, you got this one right, it seems!
It seems the universe was trying to tell me something! I meeeean, he IS cute but if he also wrote the lyrics, I just want to give him a big hug!

Funny that you paused right on the person when you asked "Whoever wrote them clearly, clearly has gone through this. I'm gonna be interested to see who actually wrote this."
You can see it on his face, can't you? Han's paused face is screaming his line.

For the fact it's a song they like the most and the possibility of them been thru the same, the thing you were talking about, pains me. But even for me, someone who does not suffer from any mental health can relate to it ( 🌈 ). The other song that gets me is Streetlight by Changbin. You might want to react to vids where the bois trying to comfort stays. They're wholesome, relatable and deserve the world♡
