  • Improvisation is something you should never plan to do. You do it when you run out of resources. Don't get caught underprepared and have to go straight to improvisation. Make sure you have the resources you need, and know how to use them, in a wilderness medical emergency.

When I shattered the distal head of my right radius I was really surprised by how much shorter my arm looked. All of the muscles in my forearm were contracting and spasming wildly. Where it was broken felt sort of like a really horrible broken tooth but in my arm. I'm still pretty surprised at how much pain that I was able to endure without blacking out. Sometimes when my arm is fatigued it will still pulsate or cramp sort of like that. All that I know is that if you have an injury like any of those in the video you will probably die without advanced medical intervention. Even an arm break like I had would have left me permanently disfigured to a point that I probably wouldn't be able to survive without the assistance of a group. We really do take medical assistance for granted.

If someone yells MEDIC on the trail I can now go Hacksaw Ridge on them.
You’ve answered this question for me before but what brand of flannel is that shirt you’re wearing? Looks awesome
