      Thanks Fred. He's chomping at the bit for this to be done and honestly so am I. It's been a LOT of work, but well worth it. The end is VERY near!

      @Just A Guy I appreciate it! know I had tons of fun building it and I included my grandson whenever I could. He loved it even if he was just banging on stuff it made him feel like he was part of it. We need more dads in this world like you!👍🙏

    Reading glasses? Yer gettin’ old young fella, 🤣🤣🤣
    When making gaskets for transformers and switchgear years ago we found that peining (or peening) the edges and holes was the way to go. Even with cast bits, not a problem because the hammer taps were quite light.
    Cheers pal, the project is looking bloody good.

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try em brother! You will thank me. Even with "good" eyes" LOL. That's a great idea about peining the hole. I might have to steal that one! Thanks buddy! I cant wait to give this to him. I might even give it a rip :)

      Well, yeah, truth be told, I have a cheap pair of 2X in my welding bag for tig, lol, better view of the puddle. And although I can hit a 6” target at 200yds with open sights on my 45-70 Marlin, and my optometrist tells my I don’t need glasses, I still wear very soft glasses for driving, lol. Eyes came good when I gave up cigarettes 🚬 7 years ago, but as things go, I update mild glasses every 5 years when I renew my license. Too cheap to pay the levee for a new license issue, plus my eyes will go bad sooner or later, lol. Still got a year to go on this one anyway, so we’ll see what happens next March.
      Thanks Bran, keep up the good work mate.

      Thanks buddy! I gave up the smokes too...2 packs a day. My wife and I quit together 10 years ago. Probably the best thing I ever did. Good for you! Take care buddy!

    • @PilotMcbride
      @PilotMcbride 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      43 years behind the smokes mate. At one stage using an ounce a day rollies, with a pipe thrown in, lol. Haven't been able to strip the weight though, went from 95 to 125kgs.... 95kgs (about 210lbs) was my football playing weight, lol.

    It's looking good , you're grandson is loving it !! I call it working backwards when we miss a step it happens to all of us , I have a handful of spent brass up to 50 cal I use for making holes in the gaskets , crime is still rising now that the schools are closed , do you have any suggestions for an affordable night vision ? And area alarms ? I'm trying to hold down the fort on my 35 acres but we got hit hard including a home invasion when my wife was home alone,with a second attempt that was a fail , the 3 of them got chased off but we're not apprehended, they have shouted in a night drive bye that they were going to kill all of us ! They broke about 8 or more laws. I've been doing night watch since , they have been messing around up on the road but there are no street lights so I can't get a look at there car , well stay safe and healthy TANK

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea on the shell casings! I like it! Sorry to hear about your trouble. I don't have any personal experience with night cams but from what I understand, technology today they are all pretty good (even the cheap ones like at Harbor Freight). I assume by your screen name that you probably carry an "item" or have those "items" in your home, so stay safe and be vigilant. It's probably a bunch of young punks trying to act tough. Ask your local PD / Sheriffs Office for some additional patrol around your home. I came home last year to some punks lucking around my property. I chased them off. I personally carry a hidden "item" everywhere all the time. You never know. Stay safe and stay healthy buddy. Hopefully this madness ends soon.

    This is awesome ! Loving how similar your trx 70 is to my arc 70. Thanks for sharing info. along the way. Thankfully our clutch cover is not missing but noticed on our 110 it is. Very nice job showing us your work on the brakes and they look great ! 👍

    Them side cover gaskets would keep water from getting into there yeah? I imagine the pull starter wouldnt last long filled with water. This is turning our super nice sir.

      Thank you very much! I think your right about the water. I cant see any other reason but that. Thanks man!

    Такие прокладки очень удобно делать методом простукивания молотком. Фиксируешь заготовку на два болта по диагонали и простукиваешь маленьким молотком по краю детали внутреннюю и затем внешнюю поверхность. 😜 Such gaskets are very convenient to do by tapping with a hammer. Fix the workpiece on two bolts diagonally and tap the inner and then the outer surface of the part with a small hammer. 😜

    Should have also put brake grease on the painted surface that the shoe rides on the raised sections behind the shoes helps keep them quieter for drum breaks

    If my break drum doesn't insert smoothly doesn't mean I need a new one? I'm also trying to get my axle to sit in there correctly slides. Anyhow help will be great

    • @BrandonLund
      @BrandonLund  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly. I've also heard that the brake pads from an ATC70 and a TRX70 look simular but are different. This could cause it also. Whats going on with the axle?

      @@BrandonLund thanks for the reply! I just can't get that damn drum over the brake pads. I think it's time for a new one. I think got the axle figured out for some reason I couldn't center it out.

    Idk if anyone's told you, but just a gasket hack, use a small hammer handle and tap lightly with the gasket material pressed over the item, it'll almost die cut the gasket for you.

      @@BrandonLund it helps cut out a lot of time. So cool to see you building it with your little one! I was 15 when I built one for my niece. And now my 3 year old has an 85 atc all original down to the tires so meanwhile I picked up 2 of the trx's both 1986. So I'm building one of those now as a resto mod then ill restore the other to OG.
