- Today is all about coastal inspired home decor which you can use to decorate your home for summer. Most of the items I used today can be found at or substituted with dollar tree products which makes them quick and easy and budget friendly.
Today I’m taking a dollar tree canvas and turning it into a faux pallet fit a sign. I used waverly chalk paint in plaster and mineral to give the sign a distressed look and used a dark gray crayola twistable pencil to make the slat lines. I used pieces of burlap ribbon to fill in a crab outline.
As an accompaniment to the pallet sign, I wrapped pillar candles with burlap and freehanded a starfish to give them coastal flare.
My final project was a life preserver wreath made out of a foam wreath form from dollar tree. I wrapped the form with burlap which I then dry brushed with the plaster color by waverly. Strips painted with the pool color by waverly were used as the accent pieces and I also painted stripes on nautical rope with the same color.
Today’s video is also a part of the monthly DIY challenge hosted by Domestic Diva DIY. The theme was coastal this month.
