Urtiga (meaning ‘Nettle) is the 1st offspring of Gaiteira (Tóxico x Xaquiro x Galan) and Boemio and we have really been looking forward to meeting her 🥰 From the moment she came into the world, she has shown the most heartwarming trust in us humans and I could not possibly have wished for a better start to the season than to be allowed to sit in the bedding with her head in my lap while she enjoyed her naps 🥹
On Gaiteira’s side you’ll find the prominent stallions Tóxico (4* recommended reproduction stallion) and Xaquiro (5* recommended merit stallion with an impressive 80 points). In combination with Boemio, we also get an even stronger imprint of a mare who is very dear to us; Bolota by Davis Ribeiro Telles. Bolota has given birth to countless successful Lusitanos, who have all been approved with 70-75.5 points 🏆
Urtiga's sire, Boemio (approved with 76 points, 167 cm tall), possesses fantastic rideability, movements and the stunning, traditional expression that he passes on to his offspring 🦄 His lines include R-Kazan Coussoul (4 *** recommended stallion), Scapin (recommended APSL stallion with 5 **** and 4 *** for merit) and Elsinore Menauts (4 *** recommended mare) - all approved with a minimum of 74.5 points.

My hope is that there is a wonderful person who will offer Urtiga & Gaiteira a home together. We have sold mares with foals by the side several times before, and there is some kind of relief in knowing that they have each other. Gaiteira, like Boemio, is bred at Quinta da Lagoa, 13 years old, 158 cm tall, approved with 71.5 points and an absolute dream mare for breeding. We have had 5 offspring after her, and she is confirmed pregnant for next year.
If you are looking for a true 'Ride or Die'-partner, then Urtiga is the obvious choice. She is ready to travel 'now' next to her mother, and otherwise sometime this winter, depending on the natural weaning process.
