I set mine to quarters (minimum bet is only $2.50!) and did progressive betting (up 1 level after any win, back to minimum after a no-win) and had two nice fireball rounds even without hitting an Ultra Hot ball. I guess YMMV, but I like this version as much as I like the original version.

I don't think there is a legit way to do it. Now a slot attendant could reboot your slot machine, but I doubt that would make any difference :)
