Kind of hoping it was a movie trailer but if I had to guess its for a game. I can't wait to see the movie. I I've read vol 1-6 of the novels and book 6 LN digital version will be out in January

I'm going to say this right now for my fellow English speaking viewers, where the manga is at right now, there's almost enough to warrant this whole season to cover where the manga is at right now and may probably exceed the manga or be exactly where it should be.
Its cutting close, granted the air times of the episodes of this season or depending how soon the first episode of this comes out.
Either way for what it is, the story has yet to disappoint, save my personal opinions on the mind process of our protagonist.
The anime follows the Light Novels, and the content so far only covered the first 3 books(mostly). There are 6 right now.

@@Error17401 They used a device to go back in time when Diablos was ruling the world alongside vampires.
When the three heroes ( we see the three heroes in the trailer looking like Alexia and Zeta alongside Olivier who appeared in anime ) were battling Diablos 7 shades, Cid, Claire, Alexia , Rose, Yukime went back in time amidst the battle.
Diablo immediately sensed how strong shadow magic is and killed Cid who was caught off guard and absorbed his magic.
The newly empowered Diablo was too much for the current 3 heroes and 7 shade so they retreated.
They currently want to learn how to operate the time device in order to go back in time before shadows death.
You should search up this event if you are a fan of this game. It reveals a lot of lore and interesting situations of the girl’s reaction when they see Shadow be killed or Claire, Alexia and Rose seeing Cid form getting killed.

I'm officially lost on where this series is going
This was from the game, the name is apocrypha
It's an ongoing storyline from the game. The clock at the beginning of the video is an artifact that apparently sends Cid and the girls back in time to the moment the heroes fought Diablos.
Shadow is absorbed by Diablos and the girls have to fight a powered up Diablos plus the vampire army on their own.
Things go terribly wrong in multiple ways, and Alpha keeps going back in time Re:Zero style.
