Last year I bought 2 rabbits for my brother and after he did his class 8 I couldn't give them away, I keep them and they are the best. I have 5 now they are a hobby for now, 1 doe, 1 buck and 3 kittens , still learning on how to keep them but I just love them. sweet little fluffy guys :) Apart from the rabbits we share a lot and listening to your story I realize we have a lot in common and may God enable us fulfill our dreams.
Maureen, keep going you will make it. Determination is the key. Now, with limited resources, limited time, and travel constraints etc., you may not be able to pay for business management courses, but I highly recommend you read up on financial management and general business management to expand your knowledge on business management. While at it find a successful businessman of established record and reputation in business, like a CEO, and ask them to be your mentor. This person may have connections that can lead to resources that could help in sourcing for finance. Studies on Small and Medium - size enterprises (SMEs) have shown that the biggest constraints, and cause of failure for SMEs is capital and cash flow. To develop the business above subsistence level, you need good financial management skills for managing cash flow and operations cost. Find a mentor. You must also try to get in touch with SME government agencies for them to know about you, and inform you about resources and assistance possibilities. For marketing, see if retailers in town would collaborate and increase exposure for your business. In future, your fellow rabbit farmer may think of setting up a cooperative.
