It was my dream to get into merchant Navy since 10th standard. Unfortunately due to some unforeseen reasons and pressure I couldn't live my dream. Now I'm into IT sector since last 10 years but there will never be any job satisfaction if compared to the money that I'm making now. Hopefully I'll make it big in future. For the aspiring candidates, I wish you all the best. Keep working hard.

I appreciate the way you have narrated your journey and other aspects of jobs in merchant navy. Though I was a Radio Officer on board ships from 1990 to 2000, yet your video gives me an opportunity to know the latest developments in shipping jobs, which will be more useful to guide the young generation who quite often contacts me for an advice. I remember, Master used to get a salary of USD 4400 in 1991-2000, whereas the present salary is much better. With the present merchant navy salary and proper investments, one can able retire early or else, can seek alternate profession. Me, after leaving shipping, I pursued law degree and practising as an Advocate in Madras High Court. Hence, there is a need of better advance planning for a person who wish to retire early. 2. Who bear expenses of Food and Drinks of the persons on ship, Ship Company or Self cost?
All cost ship company , captain take all decision onboard and we have deferent departments giving us instructions for different things ashore 😀❤️👍

I've just completed my 2nd mates from Australia, and am looking for a company to start working in. most of my cadet-ship was done on containers and bulkies.. do you feel like your company would hire a fresher 3rd officer? and if so if you could guide me as to how to apply and to whom would i need to speak with.

Abhinav Karn IMU does not do any graduation , they just conduct test and provide ranking , which is preferred by only few shipping companies for sponsorship

sir as you said, you get the cadetship just after 12th and directly been in merchant navy then does it mean that if you get a sponsorship directly, one does not has to opt for the IMU-CET exam. And I also want to know how did you join the merchant navy without a B.E. degree?

After completing 12 with pcm give imucet exam and sponsorship exam then dns and never ever fall in trap of fake agents

Pre sea training is always 12 months...even during 2002....that was the DG rule....unless u did a pre sea training that was not DG approved....so m wondering how u are saying that u did a 4 month pre sea training....but anyways...all the best
ARI New Delhi 4 M Pre sea dg approves bro , 12M Pre sea training has come into picture around 2004 when 2 cadets killed and throw master overboard due to dlp pressure . Cheers
Legendary kings : no buddy , before 2005 , 3 mnths pre sea triaining was approved by dg shipping . Sci , gesco , chanakya all were doing 3 mnths pre sea + 24 mnths sea time if u do ur dlp ...
