By definition, you could say he is either or just by his kill count. But I don’t think anybody would see him as either. Both serial killers and mass murders have psychological agendas as to why they kill. Sammy killed because of the business he was in. I think other than a few, like 1 or two, he didn’t want to kill any of those people. You wouldn’t look at a marine and ask them if they are a serial killer if they just flew back overseas. You know that they’re soldiers, following orders, given their responsibilities. For Sammy, it’s the same thing. He was a solider following orders.

@@shodkillings7963 by definition. But we don’t call them that because of the premises for why they kill. Serial killers are those who have a psychological agenda they want to express. Either sexual, emotional, etc. But they kill for a sensation, to kill to satisfy something. For whatever it is. Soldiers kill because it is a necessity. They kill because they are in a war, they kill because the people they kill are trying to kill them. There are plenty of people who would’ve never killed unless they were in the military. Plus 99% of people after the military don’t continue killing. It’s different overall

Of those 19 murders, a good chunk of them Sammy did not pull the trigger. He was complicit. And if he was complicit, so were a handful or more who played a role. Those murders are organized conspiracies in furtherance of an illegal enterprise. It's no different from the C.I.A., or law enforcement engaging in assassinations or putting people down. The difference is that federal agencies and law enforcement are authorized or are (primarily) found to be justified when they take a life. In furtherance of National Security, or for fear their life was in danger. Cosa Nostra has no such (LEGAL) authorization. So it isn't so much the murders from a morality standpoint that ruling authorities in society take umbrage to, as it is in whose name these murders are being conducted.

Murder is murder, but these guys know exactly what they signed up for and knew what to expect if they ever crossed the line. Serial killers and mass murderers derive pleasure from reckless killing and either do it to uphold some agenda or they're on the opposite end of the spectrum they're aimless and random. The mob wouldn't have allowed its members to be so reckless because it would bring too much unnecessary heat down on them.

Mobsters are just as predatory as any cartel, they just have the complexion for protection. You don’t have to be a psychopath to kill someone. It is very easy to do. Sammy didn’t kill 19 people. He pled guilty to 19 murdered some of which he helped orchestrate. In order to get a light sentence he offered up those names. There are many other guys out there with multiple murders in that life. He was just the highest profile name of those that got caught.

Great interviews with Sammy and Michael. BTW, there are a bunch of Vietnamese guys in jail in the west coast and Texas, but we are very welcoming peeps. Love get togethers and eating and drinking with everyone.
