This video discusses the structure of the various Courts in Ghana.
By the dictates of article 126 of the 1992 Constitution, the Judiciary in Ghana consists of the Superior Courts of Judicature and the lower Courts which are established by Parliament.
The Superior Courts of Judicature listed under article 126 of the Constitution are as follows:
(a)Supreme Court
(b)Court of Appeal
(c) High Court and Regional Tribunals
The Lower Courts listed in the Courts Act are as follows:
(a) Circuit Courts;
(b)District Courts;
(c) Juvenile Courts; and
(d) the National House of Chiefs, Regional Houses of Chiefs and every Traditional Council, in respect of the jurisdiction of that House or Council to adjudicate over a cause or matter affecting chieftaincy.

thank you very much for this public education on the court system in Ghana. I got confounded when you reiterated that there is nothing like inferior court in Ghana but a LOWER court instead. In general we find Inferior as direct opposite to superior. so what is the legal dichotomy between the Lower and the Inferior? Was the lower not a synonymous word for the inferior that the attorney general department opted for?.
secondly, I need more explanation on the power of contempt to the superior court.
