Really happy about this new release too, I'll be getting that diorama set for sure. What I want now is some actual rally Subaru with at least homage decos... where the hell are they haha? Also missing are: -the Citroen Xsara WRC -Citroen C4 was made before once in Speed Machines so let's bring it back -Peugot 205 T16 Evo1 .... and many more! Hope we get more Rally legendary cars :)
So happy my ideas have come to fruition. Back in Charlotte, I asked the Hot Wheels design teams, Matt, Julian, you know who they are, to release the Lancia Stratos and Delta in Premium versions. I wanted to see more WRC Rally cars. Matt took out his notebook and wrote it down. I said after the Q&A, “Remember” WRC” Matt tapped his pocket and said, “yep, I got it”. I found the Stratos, and can’t wait to get the Box set. The thought that these releases I helped influence, blows me away. So exited to hold a Hot Wheels car I asked Mattel to make. Going to LA and having them sign the artwork.
I bought a 1980 Lancia Beta Coupe back in the days as a young man at college. The Lancia Beta Coupe is such a great handling car and I had so much joy driving that car until a drunk driver ran the red light and totaled it. At that time I joined the Lancia Sport Car Club went to many of their events and saw a real life Stratos. I am glad Hot wheels are making them now!
This set is an absolute dream. Group B rally was a golden age and I’m glad the threw a bone the the 40+ year old guys buying hot wheels for their kids and themselves. So stoked on this set
I like what you're thinking. I would love to see a Car Culture set that honors those rare cars in street form that the manufacturers had to produce in order to compete in rally, touring car, GT3, etc. The RS200 and Delta Integrale would be good, but a street version of the 037 would be cool too. We just got a couple of versions of the Subaru 22B in Boulevard and Ronin Run, but there are lots of other cars that would fit in a set like that. On the other side, the casting that I wish had made it into this box set was the newer Celica GT-Four. That's one that needs it's rally livery (anything other that Castrol is blasphemous🤣) and we've only had it in street form so far. I am one that really appreciates the love that Mattel is showing to rally and I will be adding this box set to my collection for sure. Thanks for the video!
Good year for Lancia in Hot Wheels. All 4 of the Hot Wheels of their brand have been made premium now with the Delta Integrale and non-group 5 Stratos this year. Id get it for the Delta alone.
Speaking of mixing and matching. The current Rally Hauler in this set, carries a livery that is more akin to that of the old Peugeot Talbot Sport 205 T16's. Which has been a rumored premium casting for a while now. I would say this set all but confirms it.
How do the colors make it on the lancia? The strip is black and grey instead of it's two shades of blue... Doesn't look as good as the original colors........
A hotwheels car culture homologation special set would be great, stock RS200, stock integrale, stock sport quattro, stock 037 and maybe as a new casting they could do a Manta 400 or something
I've absolutely been wishing for this set for a long while! While the rally liveries are epic indeed, what I want to see even more than those, are the homologation road cars in "factory fresh" look, and not just Group B but Group A as well: Escort Cosworth, Delta Intergrale, Celica GT-Four, Impreza WRX, Lancer Evo and numerous others - because part of the reason why Group B and Group A were so legendary is not just the rally cars, but also the road cars that the companies had to sell to qualify for racing, that form a big part of the story.

Got this one a few weeks ago. It reappeared in Walmart and I usually missed out on it most of the time but happy I got the set now. It’s good in a way that the store I go to brings out the same premium, culture, boulevard, team transport sets as well as new ones because it gives me a chance to get it again if I missed the opportunity before and there’s a few other stores around with different vehicles new or current or past sets that I have not got yet and pick them up. I’m a hot wheels collector, obviously turned into a addiction, lol!, because love hot wheels. Yeah know grew up playing with hot wheels and matchbox too as I have a few of them too. I don’t need to have everything tho as I pick what I like the most, like I don’t usually pick the fantasy vehicles, I’m more for the production real looking vehicles and race vehicle versions. Great set tho, love it
I hope to find this warming a peg at the local wally world. I love lancias. The Stratos is my favorite car of all time. It'd be sweet to see a Lancia set with a Stratos, Delta, and an 037 with actual licensed liveries.
Some other hot wheels rally trivia: 1. There is a Datsun 510 in the first year of car culture. That livery is based on the car that won the 1970 Safari Rally. 2. The 84 Toyota Starlet is the car Kalle Rovanpera (current WRC champ) learned to rally drive with in Finland when he was 8 years old. 3. The 95 Toyota Celica GT-Four casting they released a couple of times recently in red and yellow has the roof air scoop from the rally car version. So hopefully, they are going to give us a rally livery eventualy.
Not just the roof scoop, it also has a racing interior with a full roll cage. Hot Wheels has the Castrol licence so I'd hope they do the iconic Castrol livery in the future along with some of the other cool liveries too. The Escort Cosworth also has a racing interior, roll cage and the rally car's side exhaust. Also, the bugeye Impreza WRX they released back in 2017 is also a semi-WRC version, with a WRC front bumper and bonnet, racing interior w/o rear seats and full roll cage.
Right? Some people scoffed at the Metro 6R4 in the set saying it's just an econobox riced MG like they never knew the shit went Group B racing! Saw some people scoffed at the Delta Integrale saying it's a boring box too and those peg warmer comments... Like damn bruh????
@@abbiravindhran8424 it is why researching a bit in Group B can be surprising to delve deeper into. There's some cars that went racing (and some that was planned but didn't) in Group B that you wouldn't expect (atleast with the 6R4 it's a bit expected because MG did quite alot to it, but you wouldn't expect a Lada to enter Group B, except it did)

I find it a little hard to believe anyone who is in to cars/hot wheels would not be interested in rally, considering all the legendary stories and vehicles the sport encompasses.
Here in the uk all and I mean all the diorama sets are peg warmers, so wherever was saying that about this set to you may have been right especially if they are from the uk. I think the issue is the unlicensed haulers. It wouldn’t have been hard to get permission to use the 1965 Ford transit instead of the generic fantasy hauler. And the price is pretty high in the uk too. £25 for 3 licensed works out at more than buying. 3 car culture carded cars.
There is definite issue with people on Instagram they don't like anything no matter what it is. Nice set in my opion I just tend to noty buy these because I prefer loose cars as they take up less room but this is one I would consider

Did you say exclusive to wallmart? This is advertised on Smyths toy stores in the uk, Deagostini did a Ford rally set ,stunning set ,you hot ut in the first edition of the rally magazine, every week you got a different rally car , I have a few that I've not even opened.😊
I know you american guys are not Rally fans, but In the UK this set would fly off the shelves. Rally is a big thing and these Group B cars are legendary. If you want to see cars being driven at death wish speed. So many people died the Group did not last long.
I love these. The Rs200 is my boy. I wish theyd give me a Ken Block Rs200, I mean us. But the RS is literally my Fave I think the other RS has the legacy paint job. Id buy 2 of these. I have always been a rally fan, and regularly grab these whips in video games. Dirt 2.0 really brings em to life.

Because I love rallye series I love this set. They could just replace the RS200 ( it has been already in many sets) and the MG to the new Escort Cosworth one and the Subaru WRX or STi instead. Imagine a pack with Lancia Delta, Escort Cosworth, Subaru Sti! And as a second set, Evo 6/7, Toyota Celica GT-4 and Peugeot 206 wrc! But still I like this pack.

100% a peg warmer tho. In USA anyway. I dont think any of these hit the US roads in any shape or form. We have no connection to them. Why drop 30 bucks on cars we let hang as individual premiums?
These cars hit US roads 3 times. The WRC had one event in the USA from 1986 to 1988. But ya, 3 is a small number. They're trying to bring WRC back actually. They did a sort of test event in Tennessee this year. I hope they succeed.
I would n have swapped out the Delta n added the 037 because the Delta was a group N car n not a group b car, the group B Delta N car, the group b was the Delta S4
I don’t know why but my white car keeps getting yellowing .It’s kind of sad because there are many white rally cars and they are beautiful such as Lancia 037 .
I bet you whoever said this would be a peg warmer because it's boring, had to have been American. Maybe Hot Wheels should not sell this set in USA at all and instead divert all the inventory to other places like Europe, South America, Asia, etc. where there's a huge rally following and this set will be gobbled up. However, the only reason it could be a peg warmer even there, is if they mess up the price. But then, that's not this set's fault, it is Hot Wheels' fault. Also, as nice as these cars are, I find the selection a bit odd - I don't think the Group A Delta road car fits well with the Group B Metro and RS200; they should've either done another Group B car in place of the Delta or kept the Delta and done the Delta's period Group A rivals like the Escort Cosworth and the Celica GT-Four. Something is seriously out of whack at Hot Wheels and whoever is in charge of the car selection (and colour scheme/ wheels selection) in all these premium sets (Car Culture, Boulevard, Fast and Furious) needs to have a word with themselves. But as I said, the set does look nice and the artwork is amazing, so it is worth getting. And with the Delta now in premium, I hope to see it in iconic plain factory colours like rosso monza, giallo ginestra, verde york and blu lagos. A definite future Modern Classics 5 contender.
I don’t really buy Hot Wheels at all. They’re all too “toy-ish” to me. However, I will consider getting this set. Actually, yeah…I’ll get this set. Um, probably 2 of them, if I don’t get 3 of them…LOL
I had originally missed. the Period Correct sale, but unlike Hot Wheels, Period Correct canceled all the bot orders, re-opened the sale, and I got both, with the hats.
Dude, if you were a real collector you would know the #1 rule of collecting, the MOST IMPORTANT rule: NEVER EVER take it out of it's packaging! These cars are worth so much less now, because their now loose.
@@jimmysuperduty1484 I don't sell any of them, but I still keep them in the package. Because I know that their will come a time when they will triple in value and be worth even more, and that value will only go down if their loose. I haven't opened a hot wheels since I was 7, for 21 years.

That to me is what being a True collector is all about, knowing that you possess something that is very rare and very valuable, something that with time, people will pay anything to get, which CAN'T happen if their out of its packaging.
The cars are the problem, not the theme. If u want to cast the right net for the US market anyway. Better to have Porsches/Audi/Escorts/BMW/Alpine/Mercedes or even Citroen DS.. Americans have no connection to most of these.

These cars hit US roads 3 times. The WRC had one event in the USA from 1986 to 1988. But ya, 3 is a small number.

I bet you whoever said this would be a peg warmer because it's boring, had to have been American. Maybe Hot Wheels should not sell this set in USA at all and instead divert all the inventory to other places like Europe, South America, Asia, etc. where there's a huge rally following and this set will be gobbled up. However, the only reason it could be a peg warmer even there, is if they mess up the price. But then, that's not this set's fault, it is Hot Wheels' fault.
Also, as nice as these cars are, I find the selection a bit odd - I don't think the Group A Delta road car fits well with the Group B Metro and RS200; they should've either done another Group B car in place of the Delta or kept the Delta and done the Delta's period Group A rivals like the Escort Cosworth and the Celica GT-Four. Something is seriously out of whack at Hot Wheels and whoever is in charge of the car selection (and colour scheme/ wheels selection) in all these premium sets (Car Culture, Boulevard, Fast and Furious) needs to have a word with themselves. But as I said, the set does look nice and the artwork is amazing, so it is worth getting. And with the Delta now in premium, I hope to see it in iconic plain factory colours like rosso monza, giallo ginestra, verde york and blu lagos. A definite future Modern Classics 5 contender.

I don’t really buy Hot Wheels at all. They’re all too “toy-ish” to me. However, I will consider getting this set. Actually, yeah…I’ll get this set. Um, probably 2 of them, if I don’t get 3 of them…LOL
I had originally missed. the Period Correct sale, but unlike Hot Wheels, Period Correct canceled all the bot orders, re-opened the sale, and I got both, with the hats.

Dude, if you were a real collector you would know the #1 rule of collecting, the MOST IMPORTANT rule: NEVER EVER take it out of it's packaging! These cars are worth so much less now, because their now loose.
Theyre more fun open...if you arent selling them why keep them packaged?
@@jimmysuperduty1484 I don't sell any of them, but I still keep them in the package. Because I know that their will come a time when they will triple in value and be worth even more, and that value will only go down if their loose. I haven't opened a hot wheels since I was 7, for 21 years.
@@jimmysuperduty1484 Also I do the same thing with Hats, shirts, Jackets and a lot of other toys, there are some toys I've gotten a month ago that cost $50 but because of how it's in high demand, it now going for $300, in one month, in 10 years it might go for $1000! That to me is what being a True collector is all about, knowing that you possess something that is very rare and very valuable, something that with time, people will pay anything to get, which CAN'T happen if their out of its packaging.
The cars are the problem, not the theme. If u want to cast the right net for the US market anyway. Better to have Porsches/Audi/Escorts/BMW/Alpine/Mercedes or even Citroen DS.. Americans have no connection to most of these.
that's an incredibly broad generalization. maybe some Americans don't but plenty of us have extremely strong support for European cars even if we don't see or drive them.
Racing fans know and love these cars. "Car guys" maybe not so much, but there's enough stuff for them already.
