    Nice video!
Bought my used Bushtec Roadstar last year, to carry my German Shepherd (with a pet lid on the Roadstar) behind the ST1300.
Todd is indeed, a jewel and a peach of a guy. Found my mileage also dipped about10%, but the 1300 doesn't ride like it's pulling any weight at all. I find the Roadstar is all but imperceptible, and I too rode about 500 miles to fetch mine from Jacksonville FL.
Remembering I was constantly checking my mirrors, and I can easily see the trailer's turn signals in my mirrors -- very comforting.
Also found I can do the u-turn box on the MSF range, and the trailer tracks right behind me even in the smaller 28ft box... I can keep the ST AND! the Bushtec within the painted lines.
And Kaiser (my GSD) loves to ride in it, and he gets a lot of attention on the road. We ride to work together every day.
I can just imagine your 1600 can ride like, "Trailer? What trailer?"
Looks like I may have to find more of your YT videos now.
As others have noted, I prefer heated gear to multiple layers, for comfort in the cold. But the trailer allows me to carry lots of layers, as well... more options! Used to live in CT while in the Navy, and I didn't have heated gear back in the 70s.
Being from AL, I never learned to appreciate the New England winters.
Thanks again for your video, many happy and trouble-free miles to you!

I pull a 2001 Bushtec Quantum with my '18 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. We've ridden from NH to the Dragon in TN and N. Carolina with our trailer with no issues.
Now that you pull a Bushtec, you can buy heated liners instead of 10 layers of restrictive clothing. They work great!!
    Enjoy your trailer!!

The Trailer looks great and loved your review.
My BMW GS used to just flash the temp -4 c = 24 F, which made me laugh the first time it happened; I named it The Freaking Cold Flash.
I use a pair of Carhartt extreme 1000 denier ballistic nylon bibs and usually have to open zip at the hip, since they get too warm with only flannel pj’s under them.
On the east coast -6 c 21 F with the humidity as per heavy frost, is damn cold.

I've learned the adventures occur when and where you may not be expecting them.... and likely include weather. Last March in western New Mexico, got caught in a Thundersnow nearing the Arizona border. In the 40s, which was the good news, as the wind was 40 to 50 mph from the South and I was headed East having abandoned the trip. Longest 200 miles ever to El Paso, and enroute a dust storm frosted my visor to the point of replacement. Heck of an adventure though!! And that is what I was looking for. The Bushtec will do well for you and Cathie. Glad you'll get to more conveniently share her company on those longer trips. Look forward to seeing those videos.

So that's your solution ....a trailer ! I am in the same boat as you and trying to figure out how I can fit everything on my Roadmaster. Its not a problem if I am alone, in fact I got space left over but when the Misses joins in its not working well. She uses the big trunk and one saddlebag and I & tools use the other saddlebag. And there is no way we can fit any camping & cooking gear, that stays home.
My ingenious plan is to talk the Misses into riding her own bike and then we would have 2 bikes to pack stuff. I am not liking my chances :(.
    Ride safe

    • @LivingOffTheSlab
      @LivingOffTheSlab 2 ปีที่แล้ว

That is our problem too. Riding alone is not problem, but when Cathy joins me, then we are both limited for space (I too have to carry the tools on my side). Camping two up, is a no go. Thus the trailer!! We will most likely do some Truck/Trailer trips as well, but I want to be on the bike, so for now we are going to do the trailer thing and see how it works out. If the first 1000 miles are any indication, we are going to like it.
