Sometimes if your windshield was broken, the windshield company when removing it,scratch the paint down to bare metal, when they install the new windshield ,they use primer only where the sealer goes on,but don't put primer on all those scratches theycaused,so yrs later all those scratches become horrible rust.😟😟😟😟

Thank you for this video. My 1999 f250 is leaking down the inside of the windshield and in the corners pretty bad. I’m a welder, so I know I’d be able to get the rust off eventually. I wonder if there’s any good way to patch it temporarily. I tried to run a bead of silicone down the top, and it helped for several months (not perfectly) and is now dry rotting. I’m not sure if there is a sealant that can withstand the heat from the sun.

Did you have any corrosion in your fuse box or have any electrical issues with your truck? Mine is a 1999 f250 powerstroke and I had relays chattering with the key off. I narrowed the issue to the fuse box under the driver side dash. With a little bit of effort from a dremel tool and mini cutting discs I grinded the special bolt/rivet to take the fuse box apart and cleaned it all up. I did not think to check my glove box. I now know I need to have my Windshield removed and check for rust like you did in this video. It is good to know it is mostly coming from the windshield seal. Thank you. Note that the air vents on the rear of the cab that allow air to vent when you slam/shut the door tend to leak also. Good day.

Mine is a 1999 f250 as well (early 99.) I have water running down the inside of the windshield. I believe the windshield has been replaced before. I saw a different comment say something about them not primering it correctly can cause the rust and eventual leaking. I ran a bead of silicone down the top of it for a temporary fix and placed a plastic bag over the fuse box on the driver side. It helped a lot but I still get water in the corners of the roof, it’s super annoying.
