1:10:47 don’t walk it back brother, full send. Jeter was a subpar defender, in almost every measurable stat.

Carew definitely had a strange swing in the sense that it was so flat it doesn’t make any sense how he managed to hit as many homers as he did ( which he hardly hit any ) , but Rickey Henderson and a couple other guys had similar crouched stances , the weirdest stances I can think of off the top of my head are Luis campusano and Craig counsell

21:00 - I agree that there’s no real definition to a Dynasty, but most people agree you need at least 3 rings and usually were the favorite for the years you didn’t win. I’m a Giants fan, people call our 3 rings in 5 years a “Dynasty”. But we missed the playoffs the other years, and were never the favorites. The 90’s Yankees were most definitely a power house dynasty. In basketball, the Warriors. In football, the Chiefs *vomit* and obviously the Patriots before them.
So the Astros are one WS away from being a legit “dynasty”

One strange part about this video was at 38:00, when NMF said that Judge hitting 62 homers set the franchise record and got everybody excited for some reason. I mean yes, that first part is true, but a little reductive. Judge broke the Yankees, American League, and players who haven’t had to testify in front of congress about their alleged PED usage single season home run record, a record that has been seen as one of the most illustrious ones in all of baseball. Besides this strange little bit, this was an excellent video as usual, and goes to show how spoiled we baseball fans are with quality content.

I think dynasties are a part of the rule of 3s. It has to be a span of 3 years of dominance. Chicago Bulls winning 3 championships made them a dynasty. (one of the main determinants of serial killers is having 3 separate victims/ killings over a space of 3 weeks or a month.) Most determining factors of greatness consist of the rule of 3s. (3 championships, MVPs, 3 great stats)

You should have mentioned the only death during an at bat in mlb history. It was a Cleveland Indians shortstop, Ray Chapman, who was killed by Carl Mays when a ball struck his head during his at bat. The pitcher was known as a very aggressive one, and the day was especially cloudy. Combine this with the dark brown balls, and Chapman likely lost the ball in the clouds. This incident sparked a change in the baseballs from being covered in chewing tobacco, to being a much lighter colour to be easier to see by the hitter.

You’re comparing Riley to the worst stretch of Beltre’s career BTW. Seattle sucked the talent out of players back then like Anaheim does now. Mike Trout would have 110 WAR and 5 MVPs if he played for any other team. Shohei would have 1 Cy Young and 3 by now if he had. And he wouldn’t have needed elbow surgery twice.

I live in an area of Illinois that is pretty split between Cardinals and Cubs fans. As a Cardinal fan myself, I don’t even like to look at the color blue because I dislike the Cubs so much, yet some of my best friends are Cub fans lol

My favorite batting stance and swing will always be Josh Hamilton. Man was a monster with the bat.

Ichiro and David Eckstein have my favorite stances. Playing wiffle ball as a kid, this the combination stance I used to hit home runs, and I hit a lot of them.
