Until tonight, 11th August 2021, my 'go to' Bolero was the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra from 1971 under the baton of Mr Celibidache. Watching this tonight has given me a new personal favourite, thank you for uploading.
i just love each individual instrument being shown and the gradual increase in volume till the end of this great masterpiece leaves me feeling so good.
you know even if its really long its so interesting to hear each soloist and for a trombonist to sound like a woodwind I was speechless. I think I just started to like the trombone a little haha.
I agree with you. I've never seen a pair of drumsticks held so close to the heads. However, when the drummer gets going he is precise and rhythmic to the nth degree. If you want a fabulous drummer I would suggest the old Ozawa/Boston Symphony recording on DG's Musikfest label.
@logodo personally I like Andre Rieu's version's intepretation of the trombone solo more because of the nice duet, but I do feel that this version's ending is the best. The "thump" of the bass drum just fits so well, giving it that ominous feel right to the end.
This is a very good rendition of Bolero. But, in the first 8 or 9 minutes of the work the snare drum is hardly heard, it has been suppressed too much . This a bolero, it should be lively and a proper degree of sound coming from the snare drum is absolutely necessary to make it lively.

Q linda melodía un saludo a esos grandes músicos desde Guatemala 😄😄😄👍👍❤️❤️🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🌹💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍🇬🇹

The very best sounding bassoon I've ever heard. The trombone player is the best I've heard since Tommy Dorsey, just my opinion.
Incroyable que Ravel est donné vie à tous ces instruments de façon pationnée. C’est juste gigantesque
Great rendition! Thanks for sharing!
