Ah, Hillprop got the Philly Groove Records joint on the tables! Real heads know. I agree with you, Hillprop, the drums should be tailor made to fit the track (no stock sounds over here in Dirty Jerz!). Dope video!!!
Gadget, you did an incredible job with this bro. Props to you for the exposure. Thanks and apprecitation to everybody for watchin' this video. I really had fun doin' this joint. Peace
Awesome Video homie I am Proud of you Hill Prop. Keep reppin the DMV I will be home in about a month or less to visit I will look you up and shouts to you to Gadget. I love the behind the beats Segment!!
Awesome video! Very good look, fam. Well deserved, too... Kirk Franklin had a big track with that Loggins/McDonald sample, too: "Declaration (This is it!)"...
First of all sorry about your father , rest in peace. You make nice beats man specially the last one , I always wanted to be a dj and make underground hiphop beats like you , I dont have the equipment . keep up hillprop! - greetings from The Netherlands
Great Philosophy man, People have to be real. I mean after all music is a reflection of self man, its your soul you put into it. You cant have bullshit come out of music... it doesnt add up to me! Great Video, Just got an XL about to get it set up and get to chopping
Hill I'm a big 80s fan too! That's funny Philly has a Magic station too. It use to be soft rock bangn' Kenny Loggins type joints. Now they play alternative and harder rock stuff now. Aye, I tried to sample Toto's, Africa joint. I couldn't really get down though.
I have that Toto album. Never really tried to chop that song though. The album has a drumbreak and some really soulful type music. Thanks for watching bro.
U see that break record everywhere (Paul Nice Drums), even saw one in a video of J-Force.. Its a nice library though, must admit i got 2 on vinyl myself
Yo Nas definitely used that first! I had to check the rest of the comments to see if others heard it too lol the I AM album WE WILL SURVIVE that was like 1999ish era B! Nice ears though!
hillprop97 Thanks for putting me onto some Kenny Loggins, seen that record when i was at Goodwill a couple weeks ago and grabbed it insantly. Before that i had grabbed another one that was produced by Bob James and Phil Ramone, "Celebrate Me Home"
I wouldn't say that. It depends on what mpc you have though. Maschines sampling capabilities are better than the XL. However, I'm a mpchead, so I would choose the xl over maschine any day. Its just about feel for me. If you are just starting out, then I would get maschine though.
I think the 5k is the best MP of em all. I can't find nuthin wrong with it, including the sample engine. I won't use anything else. It's powerful and easy 2 use, and of course all of this is my opinion. Love all the MP's though. I just think the 5k is @ least the best for me.
Toby McMillian II I can hardly wait to get my hands on a MPC. Is the 5000 better to start with rather than the 2500?i been sampling an making music for about 7 years an I am currently messing around with the SP505
Hillprop is my boy but how he gonna front like RZA didn't have any influence on him chopping the middle of words (and vocal samples in general)! Why does the RZA never get props?
Ah, Hillprop got the Philly Groove Records joint on the tables! Real heads know. I agree with you, Hillprop, the drums should be tailor made to fit the track (no stock sounds over here in Dirty Jerz!). Dope video!!!

its sad though these boom bap music is not selling no more
Labels don't want to pay to clear samples for starters, and if you make this kind of music now they call it old school.: /
