Factory built motorcycles designed for use with a sidecar usually can't be driven safely without the sidecar attached. The reason for that is the fork rake and trail are setup to work with the sidecar wheel toe-in and motorcycle lean angle. Without the sidecar attached the handlebars will not self center when coming out of a curve and if you are not expecting that you will crash the bike. I attempted to test ride my Dnepr MT-11 sidecar motorcycle without it's sidecar after rebuilding the engine. I ended up walking beside the bike back to the shop in first gear because it almost killed me just about a 1/4 mile down the road.

I love sidecars too , I recall first time I rode mine (wide & heavy double) I braked mostly front like you do on a solo . The weight shift inertia had me involuntarily change lanes (like you did) on the centerline a bit . Simple fix is favor the rear brake more .

Weird lol sounds like a sowing machine. I have a friend with an electraglide with a cart on it and he let me try it. On it steering was scary in either direction left was difficult and right it would lift the sidecar up in the air and scare the crap out of you lol if you throttled hard you'd have to steer left hard to keep it straight and if you braked you'd have to steer right to keep it straight lol He loves it but the 2 or 3 miles I run it was enough for me lol

Do you have some CURVES anywhere near where you live..??
It would be nice to see how it handles curves and turning... at speeds higher than 30 mph...

Love PA, brother and his boys live on the western side of the mountains from you. All bikers. I'm down in South Carolina. Love your videos. Let's be careful out there. Peace.

You need one of those old German helmets with the spike on top and a monocle.
