Honestly I find the open doors on vehicles more realistic to the panic of a zombie apocalypse.

For sure, it's a great mod if realism is what you're after.
almost hyper realistic looking at the clips, that's how it would be not just rows of closed doors.
and yet we never find vehicles in garages. or loot on the back seat.
Well it depends, i find silly that someone perfectly parked their car in a store but decided to leave the door open.

I started modding this game with no coding experience and I am really proud of this one! I am on a period of burnout but I'm motivated to improve the mod and fix some important bugs once I'm done with this semester in school. To anyone using my mod: don't be hesitant to let me know if there is anything I can improve, but please be patient and understanding of a baby modder who is trying their best!

GPS first arrived in cars in 1990. However, I am doubting we would encounter it often in rural KY in the early 1990s, that's for sure.

It's a little anachronistic but still works if you ignore that there probably would be functioning gps sats available anymore.
@@squirrelsinjacket1804the GPS satellites will quickly drift and become inaccurate in a matter of weeks without the land stations. Half a km after two weeks. 10km in six months.
I love the blackout mod. I set the power shut off to 2-6 months so I get a lot of time to play with it. I also make the blackouts last very long with rare recoveries to allow fridges to rot food if I dont get a generator fast enough and it makes the power coming back on a huge relief for you. I wish there was a setting to also turn off and on the water. to make my rain collectors a major priority as well.
Have you ever covered SecretZ: Pandemic?
It's similar to the Shelters mod in that it adds numerous checkpoints and Evac zones to make it seem like the Military did at least TRY to evac and contain the outbreak before everything fell through. I believe it modifies 4 vanilla areas of the map, adds 4 hidden bunkers and 8 checkpoints all throughout the major towns.
I found it works best with the Insurgent mod but I've also found it gives an almost dayz vibe to some areas too, being able to raid a checkpoint for military gear instead of having to out of the way for 'em.

The two things I really want are 1. Dryer lint. You find this by searching dryers and is a great fire starter. 2. Take a knee. When using guns, you can take a knee to greatly increase your accuracy.

The more zombies' death animations is one of the greatest mods I've added to the game. If you didn't mention it in this video, I was going to recommend it in the comment section. I'm glad you did!

Some mad lad recently added a plumbing/piping mod that lets you pump water or fuel around. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks promising and probably would pair well with the machinery mod.
Ah yes, this was in my last mods video! Works pretty well for irrigation of crops.

one of my personal favorite is "Bard Interactive Music" allow you to play music instrument using keyboard
The multiple generators mod requiring electrical levels could give this underused imo skill, more use. Maybe a few resources
But overall I love these! Build 42 cannot come soon enough.

check out the solarpanel mod if you want a Reason to grind Electricity. Takes a while to set up but its pretty cool
5:32 - Alternatively Car Door Open Indicator gives a chime when a door, Bonnet or Hood is opened (without the animation). Player's choice.
I don’t want the devs to stop making this game even better than it already is…but a small part of me wishes there was an alien invasion equivalent to this game as it would be pretty fun. Maybe a mod 🤔

Standing Items is great and I'll always run it, but there is a single quirk I've found: the utility truck vehicle story where you can find a sledgehammer, pickup truck, and four roadcones means that the tool by the manhole will be freestanding in the middle of the road lol

Hi! You could talk about the mod "Tile Man". Basically you unlock 1 meter everytime you kill a zombie. It's more like a fun mod and it offers a very different experience!

the game is super amazing but for people who spent a lot hours, it feels stale cause we have no goals after surviving. I wanna clear missions like kill some zombies in that area so you have a reason to travel, burn a specific building, gather some resources at the urban or forest area, defend an area, dungeons that are located in underground, or fight a big boss zombie that is in uncommon place and npc ask your help to clear it

I play zomboid in my very rare spare time. How do you keep up with all these mods and what they do and how they work between them?

Yeah i just had to add the machines mod to my playlist, i found it a month ago, I'm using the last minute prepper mod and the weather is really acting up, i wanted to build a series of green houses outside my bunker but when i did the required resources calculation, if i remember rightly to build 3 of them i'd need something like 460 + planks and ooooh boy i did not want to do that by hand and being able to make a my own circular saw bench would be of great help i just had too add it.
Dam i've spent alot time browsing the workshop of late i recognised all the mods featured in this video and multiple generators mod has been a life saver for keeping my shelter powered while i was away on a hunting and wilderness learning trip......in an attempt to put all the skills my character has read about into practice.
I've enjoying my playthrough, playing in a story orientated instead of meta gaming.....writing my character diary, it's been a real encouragement to work on my writing skills, English and flexing my vocabulary and slowing down that pace and just appreciating that live another life feel has been a fantastic new way to play Zomboid.

The problem with Jay's building expansiom is that it completely overrides the more builds mod which gives a ton of building options that will be gone if jay's mod is turned on

The thing with the head flashlights, I think it was made because the Thursdoid teased the same thing. Might be invalidated by B42. Either way, great mod.
Just a minor correction, More Immersive Vehicles doesn't animate cars by itself (you need animated car mods for that, like Cyt's), it just makes cars have their trunks, doors etc open and it has options for customizing the rate of open doors and such.
That and sharks vehicle mod as well. When you take a window off another vehicle to replace your smashed window, it goes into your inventory like normal (standard or heavy duty) but when you got to install it, it says you need that vehicles specific window (e.g 85 Chevy window). If you or anyone has had this problem y'all should comment. I wanna see if it can be fixed
I am planning to use the shelters mod and the nuclear winter mod in my next playthrough, that would really give the feeling of the nuclear apocalypse, or would that not really fit in zomboid?

so in regards to the Navigation mod the GPS was available starting in 1992 HOWEVER there was an inferior form of GPS Called a Sat. nav. available since 1979 HOWEVER worked from triangulating your position from a series of towers/sensors on land & buildings then reports your cars radio signal & transmitting hat information threw your radio. Though SAT. NAV. was not quite accurate as GPS but better than nothing.

I need to find a mod that lets me repair tires. I'm about to start my 3rd winter and use so many heavy-duty tires that I may have to start using less preferable vehicles.
Navigation Mod can also be justified as being the character's own familiarity with the region they live in.
Uhm... can you not already hook up multiple generators to a building, and they'll power whatever is closest to you? IT seems to work in the MP games I play in.

You mentioned Horde Night. Does that mod still work? The mod author has gone MIA and a lot of the comments say it doesn't work. From my own experience, the horde night comes, it plays the sound and shows the icon, but no zombies actually spawn.

Multiple Generators seems like it solves the issue with generators, but it doesn't. You see it only affects the generator fuel consumption, a value you can already edit in the sandbox setting. Want your gens to last 5x longer? Set it to 0.2 and you're done. The problem is the condition. If you let the generator run on background with very low fuel consumption it will go from 100% to

How does Imersive vehicle make geting a car easier... Its not like a simple rock or even an elbow to the window cant open a locked door
Does anyone know of mod.....that when you place an item on a flat surface such as a coffee cup or a cooking pot, that when your character uses the item they put it back on the worktop or table after using it rather than dropping it at their feet, it'd be a real time saver and really up the immersion???

I was bit in the hand getting into a car I was super clear on. It was bs.

I'm a new player and I've never played anything like this game before in my life. I literally cannot survive for longer than a day lol. I've tried staying in my house and making it a safe house. I've tried making a beef tank character and clearing zombies as I go. I've tried sneaky. I just don't get it i guess? Any tips for a new struggling player?
Turn on melee targeting outlines in the interface options. Knowing precisely who you will hit/push makes an insane difference.
Also practice your animation timings, remember how much time a push or a single weapon swing will take, it'll help you manage groups and know when to step back.
Don't try to engage big crowds at the start, find ways to separate zombies and kill them one by one so you can put them down and stomp heads safely.
Stand on fallen ones so they can't get up, but be careful of the ones falling face first - they can crawl if not killed.
If you are not sure that you can safely take down your enemies - run, break line of sight, they are zombies, they won't really look for you besides checking your last known location.
Spears are OP if you have some carpentry skills so you can make them in good quality. They can oneshot with some chance and have massive range. The only problem is how fragile they are, but knives, screwdrivers and the like are abundant, so carry like three of those and you're golden to clear a street.
Hope those help you same way they helped my friends. Also check out ThatGuyPredz on youtube, he has at least two tips and tricks videos, a lot of knowledge there if you're not afraid of spoilers.

Are there still old fashioned people who still use lootable maps only with pencil? Good things most mods for digital map work on paper one.

P.s. Jay's building expansion is something i didn't know but needed. Still, i won't betray my principles of not playing zomboid until 42 is out.

More Immersive Vehicles Doesn't add any animations to vanilla cars at all, it only spawns cars in with a chance the doors are open. if you have KCO or KI5 cars you'll see a change otherwise the same vanilla limitation is present. Read comments on the mod page by the author ie: "DaNiG [author] Mar 7 @ 7:15am
@[CP]CockStyle The mod does not add animations. It doesn't interact with animations at all. If you have only vanilla cars, the mod will work, but you won't see open doors and trunks."
To be honest some of those are game breaking. Building furnace, and doing forging is something possible but constructing complex machinery or computers? Or like the past month with the plumber mod? Nah it way too much unrealistic for me.
Game breaking but realist mods like trailers and citerns to transport fluids or industrial gennies is ok, it's realistic enough for me to not get out of the experience.
This may be what I need to bus

Where is the obvious mod Im still waiting; where you actually need to pee and poo. Youd have to get some toilet facility, toilet paper or bidet, in panic pee and/or poo your pants that will make your all clothing below the waist 100% dirty. You could have dry toilets, use buckets or such as night bowls etc. An extra layer could be that as a doctor or nurse you could visually or with machine inspect the quality of poo for any sicknesses or worms. What do you guys think?
In a zombie apocalypse, I doubt people will be taking the time to shut the door (and making noise) fleeing the car that has presumably run out of gas.
After 600+ hours, 2 days ago, I finally reluctantly allowed half a dozen commonly used mods to install, to play MP with someone. What a shitshow of errors. Just watching this video I'm seeing you getting around 50 errors. I like the concept of making the game easy to modify, but let's get real.. mods are the primary source of instability and most mods are trash. I have had a literal handful of errors in the 600+ hours I've played without mods. All happened when a map chunk didn't load fast enough. Within my first 5 minutes of modded playing, I'm repeatedly getting 12 or so errors at a time. The game crashed within the first 10 minutes. Not worth it.
Another topic that deserves some attention is the nature of many mods totally ignoring the setting. Putting modern cars in to 1993, putting modern guns in to 1993, putting modern GPS systems in to 1993. I get it. Do what you want and have fun. But I see a lot of people misusing terms like "Quality of Life" etc to handwave a mod despite the fact that it's incorrect for the time period. People who want to do this stuff should band together and just make a modern mod that changes the game to 202X. Give everyone smartphones and now you have a zombie plague without the need for a pesky virus!

As someone modding myself and running the game in debug mode all das long, I can assure you that vanilla itself prints hundreds of errors in minutes No problem, just by you standing around. It just all is minor stuff and not noticeable during normal gameplay

Depending on the code, the Blackout could be a way to cheese the natural power expiration IF the event starts before and end after. Not sure if this would crash the game or corrupt the save. TEST TEST TEST

I love how modders are able to put out what’s supposed to be in the actual update in less then a quarter of the time it takes the actual devs
Not really comparable in terms of quality, to be fair. Not sure why we have to weaponize having a modding community either. Just enjoy what we have without putting a negative spin on it :)

I really don't see how this game has lasted. It's cool to watch videos on but to play, I'd honestly rather get cancer. Literally downloaded it this morning and refunded on steam 30 mins later. Just horrible
Jesus, little strong there bud. Everyone has different tastes is all and that's okay. Speaking for myself, the level of detail, difficulty and customization thanks to mods does it for me. It's a very, very difficult game especially for newcomers, so a lot of people ditch it early.
