A note regarding timing... Hi to everyone who has enjoyed our music videos so far and thanks for the support and comments that many of you have left. We notice that a few people have questioned our timing on one or two tracks and even entered into some heated debate with other viewers. We thought we would just write a note to let you all in on a couple of things regarding our approach to these covers. We are both musicians in our own right and have been for many years. Everything we put out there, both audio and video, is exactly as we intend it to be. It is all on purpose, nothing is in doubt. It may sound to some that we are out of sync, we are not. We use contra rhythms and play against each other but we always land on the beat. This is something that Maynard and Adam Jones etc do fantastically well. Hence the comments regarding timing tend to arise around Tool or Puscifer covers. These guys don't like to do the obvious. Just one example: in Humbling River Maynard constructed a melody to begin at what I would consider the 'wrong end' of the opening riff. Not obvious (at least to me) but works perfectly within the structure of the piece. Tho' I like them, I personally don't go in for cross rhythms that much but my colleague on these covers does, and is a stickler for making sure they are on time. We, and he especially, would never let anything go out with any questionable timing issues. Anything we play differently to the originals is due to some artistic license we allow ourselves and we apologise if it doesn't fit well with some. We both have our own ongoing projects but love doing these covers so we'll keep putting them out from time to time and hope you enjoy the choices we make. Hope this clears some things up and we wish you all the best. Keep it real, keep it true. MI and P.
That is just amazing... Like, it still blows my mind that so many sounds can come out of 2 mandolins!! That is true talent. Keep jammin guys! And thank you lol
Have you guys been able to connect and consider bringing out some new covers or material? Been listening 🎧 over and over these videos through out 2020. 🎶🤓🖤
I see no problem with the timing. killer work guys. Would love to hear something off ' and justice for all'. My suggestion is ' to live is to die' reckon it would sound awesome.
to cover these songs and get a real effect its necessary ive noticed to have both mandolins, its great that you guys make these videos, they are very entertaining, i just need a friend who also plays mando so i can play these for fun with full effect.
it's be extremely amazing discovering you both. love your covers and how you seem to add this silent spice to each song. tysm ..keep mandolining haha 🎆🎼💕🎸🎧💕🎼🎆
Just came across this as I just picked up a mandolin to start learning to play! Awesome. That F type has some awesome high notes, but love the A type as well! Very cool when down tuning the G and D?
I would love sheet music for this and all your covers. I will even throw money at you (although I suspect copyright prevents you from taking money for it).
it will take a lot more than words and guns a whole lot more than riches and muscle the hands of the many must join as one and together we'll cross the river
I could spend forever writing out everywhere they fell out of sync. For example 0:11-0:17 they fall out. It’s only for a couple seconds here and there throughout the song. But whatever, if you don’t hear it then you’re obviously not a musician. It’s still a very creative arrangement.
Sarge Izzard Yes, I'm obviously not a musician. But the example you gave is ridiculous. They're playing 2 different rhythms, so of course it's going to sound unusual and off-kilter, but they join EXACTLY on the beat. Listen to the original - they do the same thing from around 2.40. I bet you don't go telling Maynard he's "out of time".

I do notice that the license is Standard TH-cam License. ; But I was wondering if it's legal for reuse as background music in my videos?
I know, fine pick combing
You guys should do assassin's creed, Ezio's family! That would be awesome! As always, great job!

No it isn't. Your face is out of time.
NOBODY ooooook dude. They are off each other.
Sarge Izzard I don't understand what you mean. They are so in time that I don't know why I'm even bothering to say anything.
