I was born in 1993 and grew up on an island in Maine home to Acadia national park. My mom had both Volvos and Saabs growing up. But we were ultimately a Saab family, as were so many others. Audis were way more expensive and not as available. All my siblings had 80’s Saab 900’s as first cars and they were super prevalent in New England. Saab was always the winner in niche New England towns
Great video - thanks for sharing. From an area when cars still had a character. The test includes two of my all-time favorites: The BMW E34 and the Alfa Romeo 164. Both elegant, with fantastic engines. The Saab's figures regarding consumption in relation to the offered amount of torque are impressive - I have to admit...
Audi is more of a Autobahn car and more advanced maybe but as history shows not always the best when wqs the last time one seen an Audi 200? I still see the Saab 9000 😍
But spare parts today - are easy for the Saab, Audi 20v turbo parts are at Porsche Price, a friend ha a S2 20v Coupé in the 90s m, the rear muffler was 2700 DM the rear diff 14000DM in 1996😂 The Audi 200 has the UFO Brake in the Front, a set of Brake Rotors 1100 Euro!
What I like about this video is that they understand that just slagging off the competition doesn’t work. You’ve got to compliment the competition, understand it’s good points to then show how your product is superior. You’re judged by who you beat. People want to beat the best. I liked the note on the Thema 8.32. I didn’t realise it had relatively low power, considering it’s a Ferrari engine. I’d still have one…and a 164 and Peugeot 605. I’d like a 960 estate too, but those prices have gone well up now
@@megasvennen Nope. That's why they tested it at 230 here (143MPH). Look, I like them, I almost got one back then (took the the BMW, should have taken the Alfa looking back) but top speed is a pure horsepower game. The only 9000 to crack an honest 250 was the Aero later on.
From nowerdays standard an absolutely no go..😂 You are developing and sharing the same plattfrom with your competitor and then you officially critize his product
Actually, it's just engines comparing - Saab 9000 and AR164 are on same platform. 2 ventil 3.0 AR engine is too slow 😢 By the way -Saab 9000 were extremely popular in wild east (Russia of 90s)🤣
They cease to exist because of those LIAR-TESTS: audi 200 quattro turbo 220bhp would do 0-60 in about 5.8sec, NOT 7.9sec,, but with that saab only a professional driver on very clean and grippy road will get those 8sec.
Haha no liar test. Audi is a nice car and was the main compeditor of Saab. I am not sure where you got thoose numbers if you google you get various results. If you look at Audiworld.com it says 7.7 seconds 0-100 km/h and that is pretty close 😀

@@cantjur Your welcome 😀 There is a more in depth video about what Saab thinks about Alfa Romeo 164 on the 20th december :) A very interesting video 😍
@@MMSaabChannel I am curious...Saab should be positive about the Alfa 164 hence they share one platform.

But Audi doesn’t have APC/Trionic ;)
Lovely video!
I can agree on that the 9000 2,3T with TCS is a hell of an effective car on a long journey on winter roads.
As much as I love Saab, the Audi was on another level for long term ownership.
Yes well Audi was their main competitor. Audi has a different level of quality so that's just a fact sadly.

The 965 is a really rare (brick) to see in the wlld almost never happens.
❤️❤️❤️🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪 Love SAAB Greetings from Argentina
I had an E12 BMW 525 and later a SAAB 9000 CC, and opposed to the BMW, the 9000 felt like a modern car even when it was more than a decade old.
I still remeber my Dodge Challenger - 70 with only 380 hp. I had it 1975 1976!
Alfa 164❤
Der Saab ist Klasse, aber ich würde den Audi nehmen !
@@steuermann-1970 Saab ist einzigartig 😍
Сравнить сколько ещё осталось на дорогах Ауди и Сааб, тот лучше я думаю.
saab nr1!!
Saab for the win🏁🏁🏁😁👍🎬
Saab were a great solid car
Apparently the TCS cars were very unpopular. My 96 9000 Aero is non TCS.
You have to Take 535i and 164 Turbo ....
Bmw 👍👍🗣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@evapaludet3133 SAAB 😍
The Saab does 155 mph easily.
Even my 2.0i 130hp does 135mph
no, it doesn't.
@ Yes it does.

@@MMSaabChannel 8,6 for E34 525 is pretty low too. I got under 8 sec with my stock 525 and quarter mile time 15,6
The Saab has 200hp and does faster than 8 seconds. I’ve got exactly the same model as a daily driver. Top speed 155mph
