Ajay Devgn is one the big superstars in Bollywood (but he doesn't show off).
The locations are real, infact Ajay postponed his schedule just bcoz of weather problems as he wanted to shoot in those exact locations.
also he pretty much does all the stunts all by himself, his father was action director. This is his dream project i've heard this is dedicated to his father to honour him.

Hey jaby! Okay I just wanted to put this out there. Shiva is an Indian god, and Devgn's character is apparently a great devotee of him. The verses he recites in the trailer are in praise of Shiva. The name 'Shivaay' means 'for Shiva' and is usually chanted when people pay homage to the God. Love your reactions, keep going!

I guess we should put it in different way as worship of Shiva is not being potrayed in movie. The movie appears more into potraying the philosophy of realizing the Shiva in oneself instead of praising the lord shiva.

But this movie is much more than just that, the camera work is something that you won’t find in any Bollywood or even some Hollywood movies.

I am pretty sure that wasn't one take shot as there was a silent cut when the camera enters the window of the car. These type of cuts were very common in Birdman.
The Raid Berandal car chase scene has a similar shot.

Every foreigner is most impressed by lord Shiva, no matter how they come to know of him, by travelling or other means as folktales. He can be called feudal age god, a destroyer of foes. May be because his followers comprised of all, be it humans, animals, hybrids, nightwalker, even demons, devils, witches, everyone. He is the simplest god and doesn't differentiate his worshippers on basis of their origin or birth. Every thing is his creation, everyone is equal before him.
