@@Cyn887also, not every villain loses. In lots of media, none I can name specifically off the top of my head, the villain wins over the hero. the only example I can think of is Megamind but he kinda turns into the hero by the end of the movie. So not the best example
Actually they are more carefree than you think behind camera, that's why they are more than just villains, just look to Douma's personality. Live for hundreds of years doing nothing can make you just want some type of entertainment and you become too overdramatic or indifferent for useless things like this.

No demons only really care for themselves, it’s in their nature, it’s not out of the question for them to like animals but it’s more common if they would like one animal in particular. However demons lose their humanity and memories the more humans they eat that’s why almost all the demons are considered evil and heartless, they literally don’t reciprocate emotions like humans do.

I look at it that they eat humans and don't care about them at all, but they don't eat ponies, so they feel for them more than they would humans.
