      Only cuz yellow yelich wanted to be a part of that moment and so if he grows to be an average MLBplayer he can Bragg to his kids about this! If he felt he could hit it he should have swung! Wouldn't you just not swing for the legacy? It's not about respect,,,

    I agree wholeheartedly.
    I always thought Cal Ripken should've stopped a game before tying Lou GEHRIG'S record for consecutive games played.
    Iron Horse Gehrig was stopped by something beyond his control. Could've become serious baseball lore had Ripken took a day off.

    • @kylerey09

      You dont always have to have the record to be recognized for it. This would have been an epic moment.

    • @nicholasm3949
      @nicholasm3949 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What?
      You wanted a guy who hasn’t missed a game in almost 13 years to fall 1 game short of breaking what many consider to be the most unbreakable records in sports to make Lou Gehrig who is already a legend to what, be more famous?
      Even Lou Gehrig would disagree

    • @rjb7569
      @rjb7569 ปีที่แล้ว

      But what does the record mean? I remember there were plenty of days Ripken could've/should've taken off but only played to keep the streak intact when a healthier, more rested player could've helped the team more.
      Again, it would've been total baseball monumental lore had he paused for a day. He would've been remembered more for that bit of class than a record that was probably extended by a few DH days here and there. It's a game of more than just numbers.
