I have the Canon XC10 and just love it! I recently added a .7 wide angle lens to it and can get down to 18mm. Stunning results in 4k, and HD as well. Great powerful little camera. Good review...
Should be noted to view the moire test (and all tests) at the native resolution of your monitor and most importantly: full-screen. Remember that scaling artifacts cause aliasing like crazy.
I am a wedding videographer please advise me if I need to change my system. I have been using HD cameras but not 4K until now. I use mac and edit on Imac. Also please tell me is this is suitable for tricky focusing conditions.
+confumed Thank you for your comment! This is a very heavy question. It is completely relative to what your conditions are and what you are trying to achieve. We have many resources for you to learn all about Exposure. Watch these videos, they should explain it all to you. www.videomaker.com/courses/17591-camera-controls-settings-shutter-speed-angle www.videomaker.com/courses/807-mastering-depth-of-field-part-1 Thank you for watching!
when shooting with the gh4 (or any other Panasonic or Olympus m 4/3 camera), would u suggest using native m 4/3 lenses or other lenses (canon for example) with a metabones speed booster? I personally shoot on m 4/3, and before investing in more lenses (because I only have one lens) I wanted to know the answer to the question above. thanks.
+AJ Dixon Thank you for your comment. Lens choice is directly connected to individual need. What lens you choose should be dependent on what you are trying to achieve. Depending on what you are doing, there are strengths and weaknesses for every lens. Best way to choose a lens is start with knowing how much you have to spend. Then from there make a list of what you need the lens to do. Between the list of necessary qualities and range of budget, lens choice should be easier to achieve. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching!
***** the for the Response. I am a young filmmaker, and once I buy a native lens or canon lens for example id want to stay consistent with my lens selection
I bought a $40 vello adapter so I can put my canon EF lenses on it and it works fine. You lose autofocus and IS but that's not really a problem for me. It'll also double the lenses focal length so keep that in mind!
You told us a lot but all quite obvious. How is it compared to other cameras? It's a run and gun camera and I want it for that, but no fixed aperture, no interchangeable lenses and one inch sensor sounds crap compared to the 80D for example. But that's only specifications how is it in real life? This cameras strong point is the image stabilization if it was not for that I would not even bother. If it's actually usable I would still consider one as it supposed to be broadcast approved?
I did read that it's broadcast approved. I have one on the way and already have the 80d so I'm interested to see how I like it. For a smaller sensor camera the images do have a nice cinematic look to them.
Hi I just bought this XC10 and I'm having a hard time transferring videos on my iMac. I'm transferring the videos From the camera straight to the computer and it's not appearing on in on my computer. what else do I need to do? please help. Sincerely IAN
Don't do direct transference. Get a C-Fast card reader and import to an external hard drive. I have an iMac and footage imports great with a C-fast 2.0 card reader--and plays great in Final Cut.
+Alex S Thank you for your comment. TH-cam's compression for 4k is not our favorite either. We uploaded a higher quality file than they use. The hope is as they improve their compression, they will use our legacy video, so it can improve as TH-cam does. Thanks for watching!
Try using comparisons " Sharpness..."Quite" sharp" - subjective comment, compared to what?? "As far as Dynamic range...it had a "good" dynamic range" - again subjective comment, compared to what?? If we go to Canon website we'll get the pitch "super" sharp "great" dynamic range. We don't come to Videomaker review to hear a product commercial. Vague subjective comments are useless when trying to compare gear. Perhaps when you next do a review of the Canon XC10 you can bring it up a notch.

+Bearkat4160 Thanks!
Bearkat4160 hi how to transfer video from xc10 camra to laptop .
This is so totally awesome.

+Mat R Thank you for your comment! Thanks for watching.
You might get a Cfast card included in US but over here in the UK this seems to be omitted.
Double click the nipple = ISO control. Why in gods name are all the TH-cam "experts" missing this? Lol

+William Ridenour thanks for the reply. All is good now thanks 😊
How does this camera compare to the Sony ax100? Thanks
+Pablo Gabs far better.
+Videomaker and I started liking it a lot after this video, but those cfast card oh boy I didn't know how expensive they are!!
+Pablo Gabs it comes with one. But yeah, they are expensive when you compare them to SD Cards. C-Fast 2 to boot!
any one had any issues with moiré using this camera?
was the footage highly compressed or something? Ive seen xc10 video looking much better than this.

this need to be a $1200
The Lumix GH4 is!
This video doesn't show a fraction of what this camera can do. It's selling now for about $1500.00--and it's worth every penny and much more.
ISO 200???
was this a thumbs up or down review?
Is Amazing ! i want it , I'm poor. :(
+HibraR • You are poor ? ... Buy a Panasonic G7 instead ...
+johannes914 I definitely second that.
thanks, i like it.
Canon, I am begging you, you have to stop. Please stop to offend fans of your products.
