this is true! If the client does properly treat their hair outside of salon, it can lead to damage. I personally have had my hair brightly colored for over 3 years. I’ve only ever colored my hair at home, using professional tools. I’ve not experienced breakage, nor a change in my curl pattern. HOWEVER, the upkeep of these drastic colors are tedious and must be maintained. (: hope this helps!
Hair color services require weekly/biweekly treatments and purchasing products dedicated to colored hair. Also what you are mechanically doing to your hair in between visits matters. It’s a joint effort between a stylist and client. No games.
