This tells me that when you are watching something you don't pay attention , Katie and Travis were just joking around they did not give Hailey any honey , stop making them sound like bad parents , these two are amazing parents ❤❤
Suggestion from a Mom of 4 - save your bottle feeding for daytime when you can afford to wait for it to warm up and nurse at night. Don't turn on any lights, change Hailey, not talking to her and quietly nurse her, burb her and put her back in her bassinet. Any lights or interactions will only completely wake her up, stimulate her and she won't go back to sleep quickly. It'll work 8 times out of 10. Sweet nighttimes!
We nursed at night and supplemented during the day. I pumped with a hands free bra while bottle feeding to protect my supply. Your hormones are made to help you sleep better after nursing as well .
My (unsolicited) advice with feedings at night is keep lights off, get a nightlight if needed to see, and don’t do things that encourage her to stay awake. The calmer the feeding is the more relaxed she’ll be and she’ll easier to fall back asleep. This is something I learned with my newborn that helped a lot.
@@anyamuenchgrieser8686 Rofl.... that just sounded funny. I was picturing them much later age 6 or 7. I get you though. Not long after my son could pull up, stand up in his crib, one morning I woke up to my son in bed with us. I asked my husband if he put him in bed. He assured me no he did not. But it kept happening. I would just carry him back and put him back in his bed. But in all reality it may have just been the ghost that lived in his room bringing him into our bed. Ha.
I’m a Lactation Consultant. Ideally mom should not skip any feedings if she wants to protect her milk supply. If the baby gets a bottle, she should be pumping during that time. This is because breastmilk supply works on supply and demand. If it’s feeding time, and mom does not nurse or pump, that sends a message to the brain that she has too much milk, and it cuts back on production. That being said, missing a feeding once in a blue moon probably won’t hurt anything I wouldn’t do it every day.
I think the fear of not knowing how much she's actually eating is making her more likely to give her bottles. It will work out. Fed is best....as we all know. Baby is thriving and doing great and Mom and Dad are chill.
@@beethistlewinery6682 you know by how many pees and poos in 24 hrs. And it would be a shame if she lost her milk because no one told her. Personally I don’t care if she breastfeeds or not. But she should make whatever choice she makes fully informed.
Travis you are doing an amazing job being Hailey's dad, mistakes are all part of it and the fact you are willing to do everything for her is admirable. She is such an angel indeed 💓
Okay, for real, Hailey is literally the most precious baby I've seen! Y'all are such great parents, and I love watching your sweet family! Much love to ya'll from Kansas. ♥🤍
Enjoy every minute!!! My children are in their fifties and I love them and worry about them just like I did when they were babies!! Blessings to you all.
I just want to say that it has been a joy watching y'all become parents. Travis is so in love and watching him be so nervous at the thought of a newborn (which I totally understand.....been there) to always smiling and telling Hailey how much he loves her. The best is when he keeps saying look at how cute she is....she's so beautiful.....It's just so amazing to watch. Y'all are doing a great job!!
Oh my gosh. While Hailey was waiting for her bottle, looking around, she looks exactly like Travis. She has his eyes ❤ but wait a week or so, she’ll look like Katie ❤
You really need a sling or carrier. Baby wearing allows Hailey the contact she needs and allows mom or dad to be able to get things done! She's adorable!! ❤❤❤
Travis you are a natural parent. You’re willingness to go with the flow and relax those “must always be on time” tendencies will go far. Enjoy every minute, it will go by faster than you can imagine.
WHAT A BLESSING being able to watch you two precious souls learning how to do the most important thing you will ever do. Travis managing Hailey alone and putting the outfit on backwards cracked me up. She is the most beautiful baby i have ever seen . SHe looks like a fake doll bc she is so perfect, Thank you for sharing your lives and being such a wonderful role model for our youth. We desperately need more young ppl like you. You can literally see love by looking at your faces while you are looking at her. That is pure love. You are wonderful parents. If every child was raised with the love and appreciation you have for her this world would have no evil. Please consider doing and DITL daily blog. I would watch every day. You guys make me smile so big
Hailey is so cute, reminds me of my daughter, she is now 45, seems like yesterday when she was born, cherish every moment because it goes so fast, take care, from Australia 🇦🇺
I have stumbled across your channel. What a lovely couple. I had my baby at 22 and totally understand the transition into parenthood. It's amazing. My son is now 30. Where did that time go😮.....enjoy every moment it passes quickly. Your amazing parents to that precious little baby. She is very lucky....❤
When my daughter was born she was an amazing baby (and still is) but she also started getting fussy weeks after birth and it was mainly because of the food I was eating. There are surprisingly a lot of foods that cause our babies to have gassy tummies from our milk. Hope this was helpful 🥰 Hailey is so precious!
Best thing for milk supply is to never skip a feed. Make sure you pump for every bottle you feed. That plus TONS of water, brewers yeast pills, and oats!!
Travis, I saw a clip of you on growing up Bates . And you looked nervous with being on camera . But now you are so comfortable now your on TH-cam. I'm so proud of I can tell Hailey as really change you. Katie you are so beautiful.God bless you both. You put a big smile on my face. With your testimony.
Yes, we liked this 24 in the life...video. Travis coming to realization of the limits to perfectionism is inspiring. Inspiring to forgive... first oneself and probably then forgiving others more easily... Parenting is the ultimate effort and reward.
I know people have mentioned before that Hailey looks like Travis’s mom, and she really does! I know we’re going to see Bates resemblances before too long, but I think it’s so sweet that we can see her grandmother to start with. Hailey is such a beautiful, sweet and lovable baby and she has the most precious parents! I look forward to seeing your little family every week now. 💘😇💘
Y'all are doing a great job! Give yourself grace, Travis; just relax, and take moments as they come. It will all be okay, no worries. It is a precious time. You want to enjoy it and not worry about everything being perfect. Just go with the flow, keep God first place, and it will be well with you! Y'all are a blessed and beautiful family 💕💕
Katie- you are such a sweet Mommy and are so blessed to have Travis. I am so happy God allowed your paths to cross. When he was singing to Haley, playing the guitar. It made me cry!!
Hailey is so adorable! You’re a beautiful family. I have 6 kids, 10,7,6,4,3 and 1 year old. I have so much love for each of them. Kids are are joy. Not easy but worth it.
This is a precious video! Hailey seems to be progressing beautifully and her parents seem to be doting, which is great! Y'all are doing a wonderful job as new parents. Your little family is so sweet! Love love love this!
She is so so cute!!! There is a wonder week at 8 weeks old! Its one of the developmental stages and they get really fussy during it! There is an amazing app you can get that shows you when they will go through a wonder week and what to expect during that leap and gives you lots of info. It was SO helpful for me when I had babies, I knew when they were going to be really fussy and it gave me peace of mind, and also when to look forward to the calmer phases!!
She's so cute!!! So precious!! And the way she's watching you as you talk to her is adorable. She's so intent on listening, looking at you the whole time
I love your video's you both are awesome!!! I am the mother of four and my youngest is 31 so yes it goes by very quickly. You are doing it right by enjoying every moment. Some things will be a fail and that's okay because we know that's how we learn and if and when you have more children a lot of things will likely be much easier. Travis I love your music and have also been following the Bates family for a long time. I am blessed by each and everyone of them as they are living their lives. Katie your a great Mom and thanks for taking the time both of you to bless us with your video's.
Katie, I watched you before you married Travis. After, you got married and announced you guys were pregnant, I ever thought I you guys would have the cutest little baby girl ever!! Love y’all so much!!! 💞
Ya'll she is SOOOOO CUTE!! She looks exactly like Travis! Can you imagine what a little boy will look like probably just like katie ❤ love ya'll so much❤❤❤
Try to let her get exercise like tummy time and an activity mat that she plays with throughout the day so that she works out her energy and sleeps better
"Seed" is GREAT. I had some very difficult issues and since taking seed it has stopped. IBS, heartburn, etc. Haley is an absolute doll, you both are such great parents. Just enjoy each moment. Time goes by before you know it.
Can I just acknowledge Travis holding remi just like a baby after getting home from the paediatrician appointment?! That was absolutely priceless! Hailey is also so stinkin precious
Piece of advice...invest in a Vitamix Blender. They are a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. It will work wonderfully for many years, and has awesome blending power. You won't regret getting one...Also, if you get one from QVC, they have many beautiful colors to pick from....Every kitchen should have a Vitamix Blender and a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. Just sayin'
Hey Travis, I don’t know if you know this but honey is highly toxic in infants until they are over a year old. Also, a LONG time ago, an elderly Appalachian doctor was on ABC. She talked how important it was for infants to sleep by themselves in their own room. She said even though she might cry, just let her work it out. This doctor said that as parents you will know the difference in cries. If Hailey just keeps going crying hard, she is probably hungry. Sometimes babies will cry themselves to sleep, which is their tired cry. The doctor wasn’t talking about ignoring the child, but she said there is something therapeutic about them figuring out what to do. I remember that she said she was a doctor for over 70+ years. Maybe also you need to add some digestible rice to the milk to give her some substance. Hailey is soo adorable!!! Love your channel!!! 💕💕💕💕
That little Hailey is so so precious. Just a tip, whatever you eat, Hailey eats. Giving honey to a baby can cause infant botulism. Maybe that is why she is having some fussiness or she might have colic. I love smoothies. I have a Nutribullet and its fantastic for making smoothies. When my bananas get a little overripe, I put them in the freezer and put them in my smoothie. It makes the smoothie very creamy. Have fun with Hailey. This is the best time for you both right now. Don't rush it. They grow up too fast.
She is the cutest baby! Y’all are truly blessed. She’s so sweet. I think she’s going to be a cuddle bug. Congrats again and God Bless y’all! We love ya❤
I love watching the three of you together it’s so cute! She’s a beautiful baby girl ❤ You’re doing great you learn as she grows and just keep loving her and cherish the moments with her they grow to fast 😊 keep singing with her! Thanks for sharing her with us, she’s adorable 💙🩷💜
I really enjoy your videos. I think you're doing a great. job. Haley is one lucky little girl and you can see how much she loves her Mommy and Daddy. Sending my love.♥️
Newborn stage is 2-3 months of age, depending on which reference source you consult. After that, they’re considered infants until their first birthday. Enjoy every moment! 💗
She’s so cute!! My babies were like that as well. My husband and I just say “ they have finally woken up” and it’s a different but fun stage from then on ❤ you guys are such great parents. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
My son had reflux and colic so he would projectile vomit and then have trapped wind.. needless to say it was constant, sleep deprived lots of crying ( from me and him 😂) so I would carry him everywhere in my baby sling.. even when doing laundry, dishes.. you guys are doing a fantastic job!! Your still laughing together.. hang in there.. those beautiful sleepless nights and cuddles are still my favourite memories ❤❤❤❤ loving you from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤❤
Hailey is so cute and adorable I love her little smile.i can't believe how alert she is to bless her. beautiful video always.Have a lovely week both of you and Hailey.💕💕🦴
You have me grinning from ear to ear! Thank you for that! This is bringing back such great memories! We had three children under the age of 3 years old. Our first was the one who projectile vomited. I was forever wearing "baby perfume"! LOL She was a very gassy baby and got the hiccups a lot from swallowing air......hence the projectile vomit. Hailey seems to be in the "I get bored easily so entertain me" stage now. Perhaps a crib mobile will help if you attach it to her bassinet. She will grow out of the bassinet soon anyway, depending when she learns to turn over. Our first 2 were girls and took their time turning over. Our son was 8 lbs. 9 oz. at birth and started turning over at 3 days old, so he had to be in his crib right away. He also learned to sit himself up, pull himself up, and take several steps away from the playpen edge at 6 months old. He could get into so much trouble far too easily when out of the playpen. His heavy head propelled him forward into a run instead of walking before 7 months old. Our sweet little ladies waited to walk until they were around 12 months old.....far easier on us than our son. I hope Hailey will be like our daughters were. Our son was actually skipping at 18 months down the hallway until a wall or a closed door would stop him. By the time he was born, my belly was all bruised because he was so strong with his movements. In case you are wondering, yes he did grow up to be a great basketball player and he started his own personal training business when he was 21. He's still running it now at 43 years old. He and his wife have 2 sons who enjoy 3 sports but each excel at one sport (one with soccer and the other with baseball). Oh......all the joys you have ahead of you with your family! I am so thrilled for you! Sending prayers, love, and gentle hugs.
Wow I can't get over how much Hailey has changed already , she has such beautiful eyes and already smiling and trying to talk to mommy and daddy .. You two are doing great with Hailey and she is so lucky to have parents that love her so much... 🌺👶💝
Around 1 to 4 months our baby went through a massive growing stage. He went from like 10 pounds to 20 pounds. Growing about a pound a week at 1 and a half months he started spitting up and developed colic. He didn't have any allergies. I believe it was just acid reflux. The drops helped some. Seeing your video reminded me of those days. He spit up so much like that all day. We never had enough spit up cloths. We always became prepared and covered our selves lol. I found burping him every few minutes helped. He did have his biggest and fussiest growth spurt at 2 months. By 4 to 5 months he was finally sleeping through the night and the spit up was letting up. By 6 months the spit up pretty much stopped. He's almost 10 months and rarely ever spits up anymore. I feel for you guys and that spit up stage lol.
Hailey is so adorable. Morning snuggles are the best even at 4 am. Get your self a ninja blender, when I got mine making smoothies or anything else took less time and it’s great. Have a great week
Hailey James is super adorable! She's such a beautiful baby girl! Enjoy every moment. Each phase will seem like the worse, but there are always more phases to come
Hailey is such a cutie!!!! She is starting to look like Katie now and she is a great mix of both you guys. You’re great parents and I wish you both the best.
Breast feed on demand. They have growth spurts and need to increase the milk. Pumping can mess up this process. Using a large, comfy rocking recliner and Boppy pillow then Mom can recline and sleep while nursing Dad can watch out for everyone.
Actually current ABM recommendation is clearing the bed so Mom can lay down and nurse safely. Recliners and boppies are suffocation and entrapment hazards. The book Sweet Sleep gives lots of recommendations on how to do this safely. If breastfeeding exclusively for night feeds, your body becomes in tune with baby so it is safer. Many people set a vibrating alarm so they can wake up and put the baby back in bed if they wish.
DO NOT GIVE CHILDREN UNDER 2 HONEY!!
Hailey never partook in the honey! 🍯
It was just a joke about her eating the smoothie lol 😅
They obviously didn’t, not sure why you’re yelling at them
This tells me that when you are watching something you don't pay attention , Katie and Travis were just joking around they did not give Hailey any honey , stop making them sound like bad parents , these two are amazing parents ❤❤
She got REALLY close to the straw...
Some people just can't pay any attention and then they just have to freak out!!

As a Mom of 4 I AGREE 10000000%.
I second breastfeeding at night. It SAVED me.
My baby is 40! But he woke up just like Hailey. Dr. said to add baby rice to her bottle. He slept like an Angel.
Mom of 7 here and YES! This all the way!
I’ve been a NICU nurse for over 30 years and that’s one of the most beautiful babies I’ve ever seen!

Hailey is so adorable. You both are doing a good job as new parents.
Such a gorgeous baby!!!!!!!!!! Awe she is growing!!!! Way to go Dad you will never regret giving your all !!! We respect you👏👏👏
You have me grinning from ear to ear!
Your family is just too sweet, it's so fun to watch you guys and Hailey is just a little doll!

Omg, Y'all!!! Hailey is literally the cutest most adorable baby I've ever seen!!!
