The hellhound story reminds me of what my mother would tell me. That my grandfather had encounters with a hellhound or black dog that he mounted. I don't remember the details have to ask her again, but in our native tongue it's called a Beguask (out tongue doesn't have a written language. It's passed down orally, so wrote it as best I could).
I think I once saw a forest cryptid Once when I was camping with family I saw what look like a white humanoid running through the tree line. The thing was moving quick, the body shape look like Patrick star from spongebob with long arms and legs. Now it could been something reasonable that I though was a white humanoid , the rear end of a white tail deer, albino bear, a white bird or some dude in the forest ( we did have another cabin near us). But if I did saw something that is the real deal , maybe I saw a albino Bigfoot.
The weirdest thing ive ever eaten was shark pieces deep fried with fried bananas Btw in Australia they dont advertise cooked shark as shark but as Flake dont know why, every one knows that Flake is shark! I was only 14 at the time but the shark was nice, meaty, strong flavoured & together with the fried banana sweetened the irony fish taste. I ate it all anyway so it must have been ok 🦈🍌
I work at a Covid Track and Trace and my shifts are 13 hours a day and depending on which zone I'm on I can have my phone in the none customer facing zone so these stories I listen to on Spotify and they really help me not get bored

I was born and raised in the Philippines, there are legends and folklore about Kapre but the first story did not make any freaking sense and no connection to a Kapre, they reside on tree, like huge trees according to folklore. And that story was just weird AF, I guess only connection is the smell of cigar but besides that not sure how the story teller connected it to a Kapre. Weird!

I haven't seen any mythical creatures per say, but I have seen a 50 foot gar fish from about 20 feet away. It was surreal.
Gar look like prehistoric monsters, can imagine how surreal such a huge one must be to see.
