Since everyone else on this thread is an expert Squat technician figure I throw in my 2-cents as well. Being serious though, I think Brooke could use some work on the belt squat machine immediately following the Games this year. My hunch is her sprinting background has resulted in over development of the posterior chain, also explaining why she is such a beast. The belt squat machine should bring her thighs up to par with her posterior very nicely, resulting in solid squat positioning throughout the range of motion.

Wtf this workout can only be done by lime the fittest in the whole world. The strength levels required for Rx are insane! I can’t even do 1 rep for a squat that heavy!

Am I the only one who wonders if low bar squats would have been better? I know she is the expert, but that thought came to my head several times during the video.
Ya you're right they probably would of made it easier for her, but knowing Ben he wouldn't have let her take the easier path.
CrossFit athletes almost always train high bar and not low because of the transfer to Olympic lifting. I imagine it is just to keep things consistent. Ben probably knows best :)

dillcliff we criticize her hspu ,not her squats.and we point out the obvious thing. She is a professional crossfit athlete that is cheating reps

From the objective pov her technique in a lot of movements is just terrible.. PC, HSPU and even squats. She's such a gifted athlete, I cant understand why there is no effort to fix the basics she is clearly missing.

There is no mark for her height wise here so i`m guessing all she has to do is go full extension on her arms...which she is doing even though her arms look very wide and unsure if her hands are actually inside the lines.
This is what her coach should be analyzing and working on. If in fact this is her weak movement this will limit her ability to get a podium finish, otherwise she is no doubt one of the strongest female competitions going into the games. We all have our weaknesses, those that work on the limiting factors win. I have faith she will work on it.

Great athlete .I'm watching her squats tho with one eye open thinking here knees are gonna buckle in completely & give out .Needs more Ass strength ( although its a nice ass) lol.but her lack of ass strength is probably making her knees move in on her squats .That being said ,she's a beast

If I were her coach, I would not even upload this video. I know the load is heavy but this is just bad form. Her knees bend in too much and she raises her hips far before she raises her soulders. Almost lifting the weight solely with her back during the latter half of the squat. And about those HSPUs. Can't she at least try to keep her hands inside the lines? She only does it after the first round when Ben warns her.

I guarantee you couldn’t do half the training she does. I did this WOD and it fucking sucks. When you don’t rerack at heavy weights like that, your knees will fatigue and start to buckle. HSPU regulations say your hands have to be in part in the box. So stop your trolling. Once you get to the Crossfit games then I’ll have some respect. Thabks.
The knees bend inside and are wobbely. I'm not thé expert, but they teach me at my box, knees pushed outside when you squat. Just saying😎😎😎

That is the HSPU standard for the Crossfit Games and Regionals, the open standard was different

The absolute worst HSPU standard I have ever seen. Hips NOT in line with the body AND hands not within the tape. What a farce, and way to 100% confirm the entire Brooke wells HSPU OPEN controversy.
