With the first story it’s very similar to my great uncle who has been a right awful git my entire life. He was drafted for Vietnam and was never the same and was just awful.
5 years ago he got prescribed new meds from a new dr to help. He’s a new man now. So much happier and more pleasant.
Really tragic to know how much of his life has been destroyed by untreated trauma and how much it’s ruined the lives of those around him.
Since then he’s reconnected with family members and friends and even overcome his homophobia to gladly welcome his grandson who he was cut off from

I can honestly say, as a disabled combat veteran with PTSD, recovering from it sucks and for OPs Grandfather to do that on his own is a feat to be proud of. I got a psychology degree with a specialization in military just so I could better help myself and my fellow veterans (and my friends/family). As hard as it is, I know I've made progress and it's going to take time. Strength of will is a big factor in healing, as well as self reflection and patience. I'm so happy they worked things out, that's amazing! 💖

Bruh, I have a gut feeling that the murder victim was having any good vibes though....

Therapy started some time in the 50s so it was still fairly new. I don't even think PTSD was a term yet but they were working with people instead of telling them to deal with it

I am actually living this topic myself. My 1st & I had 2 kids. We found out that she needs thyroid pills & not antidepressants that her parents had her on for 6 years. Our relationsip couldn't survive the transition she needed. She tried a few guys and she thought she loved her last guy. I myself stayed single, and broke a few ladies hearts because I maintained saying that I wasn't interested from the moment we met, to after they weaseled their way into my bed. Now that 10 years had passed since the divorce, she realized her parents are psycho and cut them out of her & our kids lives. I am currently sending any and all money I can to help her out financially, and she admitted that I was the only person in her life that she should have trusted. We plan to be together by the end of summer of 2024. Of course I had mentioned that I have at least 1 condition for us to be together again, & I told her that she had to still swallow like she used to 😌 I'm not serious about that, that was more for me to see her roll her eyes at me again 😅

I'm 26 and my grandma keeps reminding me at my age she already had all 4 of her kids. yeah, nope ! the only great-grandchildren she's getting are kittens/puppies once i get to adopt them
mom hasn't pushed me much on it. had a phase of asking me to please consider having children someday bc she saw me holding her friend's grandkid and thought it was cute (im an only child, too, so all pleads of "PLS GIV GRANDKID" are on me)
im bisexual, wouldnt want to adopt if i ended up in a sapphic relationship. i dont ever want to be pregnant in my life. I still live with my mom and my stepdad - both disabled & need care, - am employed by a family member as a secretary - to keep me busy, i guess?? - and am graduating uni this semester. do i /sound/ like someone who should get into a relationship and have a kid asap??? im also autistic and adhd, i can barely look after myself??? i take meds to remember to BRUSH MY TEETH, it would be irresponsible of me to have a whole ass human being to look after

I’m 25 and about to be a mom in April and there are times when I have some self doubt lol. But I know that I always wanted to be a mom so I guess it just comes down to mindset and life experiences

"War is hell" is wrong. War is war and hell is hell. War is worse. Why? According to most religions, who ends up in hell? Bad people who did more harm than good in life. There are no innocent bystanders in hell. In war, most of the people suffering are those innocent bystanders.

Well according to some religions, working 1 minute on a Saturday, or not having a hood over your head as a woman, or doing harm to a single cow, or liking men as a man, would send you in hell. Hell is just a place where the people who disobeyed some specific rules that have only a partial link to moral evil go.

Allow me to tell you the difference between "figurative" and "literal". You may need a pack of crayons to write this down with.
Literal is real. If you were standing outdoors, under a raincloud, you would be literally under the weather.
Figurative is fake. If you were ill, we'd say you're figuratively under the weather.
Can you see how describing something as "hell" may be figurative and non-literal? Take your time.

Story 14 at the end - Gave me proper Rene Artois from Allo' Allo' vibes. I am my own twin brother, here after the tragic death of my twin brother, to marry my/his wife.

Seems like in the 50s, therapy actually worked. LoL
Somebody should take note of this and get back to the basics.
