Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor while maintaining appropriate language for all ages, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

this figure is a good example of just how good Toybiz figures were. That Toybiz Sandman has so much better sculpting and detail

This Sandman baf figure is one of my favorite Marvel Legends figure of all time
it seems impressive to me that there doesn't seem to be standing issues with those big sand arm and hand accessories.
Maybe they could work out a BAF for Doc Ock? Like maybe you can build a small normal sized figure with one half of the wave and build his tentacles with the other half? If they cant do bendy wires anymore they could try individual ball joints? Like ones that can be connected to one another?
I dunno just throwing that out there. What do you think Shartimus?

I'd be for that as long as he's classic.
Should also make the arms fairly modular, with pieces like those ones that came with Machine Man.
They will handle it the same way they handled the new Vulture line for Spider-Man homecoming

well, vulture wings Will be about 20" long , but yeah they could release a Classic doc ock figure without tentacles , and the tentacles to be the baf.
Also, the baf could be not just the tentacles, we could get his weird mechanic suit from The end of the earth comic. so we introduce the Classic looking figure in it and put on it a modern head.
and for the Classic look we would remove the tentacles from The suit so we can put them on the figure.
so we would get both, the Classic and modern doc ock
Dude... he's Sandman. He can be bigger because he can increase his size. His presence is very demanding, not only for his size but the insane sculpting. My question to you though is, in order for you to have gotten two ordinary looking arms, which 2 of his accessories would you have been willing to sacrifice? Another good review! I love your opinions but those Toybiz figures are super dated to me. Every time you compare them to a new figure I'm like, "why does he like the Toybiz one so much?"
Unique sculpting with super detail for certain characters plus better paint jobs all around.

Unique sculpting is cool but I still don't like the way most of them look. Their body proportions look up to me. Not on all of them because I think Nightcrawler looks good
TMan978 I can name a bunch of toybiz figures that hasbro will never top the sentinel, apocalypse, series 4 beast, mcfarlane spiderman, the sabretooth, classic collussus, sandman, vulture, doc ock, bishop, omega red, lizard from the fearsome foes pack. most of the hasbro figures lack hip articulation and most of them look like plastic where as for toybiz you get more paint
You're right about that. Some of those body proportions are so wonky and bulbous. But Toy biz Doc Ock is amazing, so is the sculpt detail and effort put into some totally obscure characters like Man-Thing.

I had the Toybiz/ Spider-Man Classics Sandman for a long time and had no intention of getting rid of the figure even after seeing images of the Sandman BAF but man after posing this BAF around I think this is my new favorite Sandman figure for my Marvel Legends Spider-Man villains display, the Spider-Man Classics Sandman is a great figure but idk man I think I'm digging the new figure more.
Maybe is like the onslaught head on the shadowcat figure.
Try to ask to the hasbro maybe they will give us a regular arms on a future wave

I really like this one more then the only other sandman in my collection which is the Spiderman 3 sandman
took me over a year to complete the baf. jackal was the last figure to get and i found it for a good deal at walgreens
If Habro does do a Doc Ock they probably should do something like with Deadpool or any of the Wallgreens exclusive figures. Where he doesn't come with a BAF part to budget for the arms. Which need to be bendy. No excuse. I could just see them using the Wolverine body or Old man Logan body though. Just for the height.

In my opinion I like the big heads on the newer figures because I have a hard time getting the interchangeable heads off figures with small heads cus I have giant gorilla fingers
Gosh, 3 Spider-Man waves, 3 Captain America waves, 1 Dr. Strange wave, and one X-Men wave. Hasbro has given us a ton of figures this year. We got TWO more waves of Legends this year compared to last year.
Hey ShartimusPrime, I was thinking take extra arms from the Spider Carnage figure, swap them at the biceps, and paint the metal arm to look like flesh. It wouldn't like sleeves are there, but at least the figure would have alternate arms. Can't wait to do that with the figure when I get it!

I could definitely see Doc Ock being a BAF. Yeah his body is small, but I heard a rumor that the Vulture BAF for Homecoming will just be the wings with the body being an individual figure. They could do something like that and give the tentacle arms a crap ton of articulation.

I like the Toy Biz face more but not necessarily the whole head sculpt. Can't argue with the Bafs accessories though. I'm interpreting him as the big bruiser on the Six, like rhino will be, and that he's expanding and growing his size to be more imposing just before turning into full sand. Really hard choice, should rereview the Toybiz as a TBT
You could use the baf sandman in your avengers display after all sand man was an avenger at one point

I am really liking what Hasbro has been doing with the Legends line. The paint apps on the faces, especially the females, have improved leaps and bounds the past few waves, particularly in the eyes. Also SUPER stoked they are finally getting to the X-Men, super happy we finally got a good Rogue and Cable this wave, Polaris was my number 1 character that never got made by Toybiz so excited to see them getting to that in wave 2, and really hoping wave 3 brings in some X-Men Toybiz did that need a new release such as Gambit and a Jim Lee Psylocke. I still think toybiz has the superior paint apps hands down, but Hasbro is improving and Hasbros sculpts are really making Toybiz's look dated in comparison.

Shartimus the left leg has difficulties moving vertically due to the weird engineering design of the figure. they are not t ball joints they are something I never seen before where it's like a peg going into a another peg connecting the ball joints making both legs move when you want to move one of them forward. why didn't you mention that?
On the left arm where you can use the absorbing man arm, why don't you pop out the bicep on the Absorbing man arm and put it on the sandman shoulder?
I feel like they should like do what they did with the Walmart exclusive Thanos and re release the membee of the Sinister Six but with a bunch of accessories

I think that for the dr octopus they will do a build a vehicule like the vulture bav

Such a good fig, I want one so I looked on eBay, and all of them are like $1,000+
It would be nice to get a Dragon Man BAF, especially since the Fantastic Four Classics one is no cheaper than 400 bucks on ebay.
It sure does seem like we're getting a lot of Sandman figures lately. As far as villains go, I never gave him much thought.

5: Symbiote Black Suit Spider-Man
6: Green Goblin (He IS my favorite villain but umm he wasn’t the best)
7: Shocker (My favorite Shocker figure ever, an one of my favorite villains)
8: 2099 White Suit Spider-Man (I like the mold and suit, one of my favorite suits)
1.spider uk- because you can customize it as the sider man ps4 and lenses look as well
2.sandman-because you can put te absorming man biceps on the sandman biceps and then he will have human arms
3.green goblin-like his glider
4.spiderman 2099- i like his lences
5.shocker-its good but it needs more paint aps
6.jackal-dont like the nails has so many paint
7.black spiderman-leg dont spreadout that much
8.ms marvel-too short

I just got all the figures in the wave and I got say I'm not noticing the big head thing you are talking maybe slightly if anything or maybe it's because the new hasbro legends just have different proportions compared to the toybiz figures and almost look like they are different scale. for example the toybiz gambit is shorter compared to the new rogue we just got when gambit should be a taller than her. They are probably doing this to phase out the toybiz figures that don't fit in with the new hasbro legends.

the sandman baf looks awesome! thinking about just getting it whole since im not interested in the whole line just a few figures from the line. Funny thing though, when i look at the sculpted sand stuff long enough, it starts to remind me of...poop, especially the arms haha
what if this baf is like the red skull onslaught we get the main build a fig and a year later we get the powered down arms like how kitty pride came with the original magneto onslaught head but it is just my thought.

shart and his big head sindrome lol. Yeah this wave was my christmas gift to. Im really happy with it, sand man looks reat but the bolck makes himtop heavy and he nocked off venom carnage and green goblin on to my marvel universe figures i had to find that balance sweet spot.
And yeah i feel the same the only one i don't like is green goblin the toy biz one naild it. but i did replaced the toybiz sand man i like the BAF better, and im fine with the powered up sand hands but i can see why some people would want the normal hands.
