    Brother we kind of miss you guys. I will donate more money to your channel once you start to build again. It is so fun seeing planes start to finish and the maiden flight. That’s what made your channel very addicting.. PS I will send awesome cookies from the other side of the pond if you start that back up lol..

    What a brave man (they?) you are, Cpt. Rob. Not for coming out, but to finally maiden the DR1. Also, the scarfs on those pilots (the DR1 and the Eindecker) are waay to short. Now it is impossible for those to foul the propeller mid flight in the middle of a loop.

    Hey Rob, it takes a lot of guts to come out like that, especially at the risk of loosing subscribers. I, for one, will continue to subscribe. Good job.

    Graceful flight

    In flight it looked frontheavy to me: the tail was hanging, meaning that the plane needed elevator up to counteract the nose heaviness.

    I’m confused. Confused about going straight (I’m old and don’t understand these things) confused about stalling and crashing (well that’s what it looked like at the start). I live in Thailand where everything is confusing anyway so not surprising really but love these vids and all the ‘skanky bits’ that come with them. Bat on lads

    Time to sand/water blast that roof, put a zinc coat on it and give it a paint :)

    Can you share your final control surface throws and the amount of mix you ended up with on the rudder/aleron please. Just maidened mine last weekend and it was defiantly flown all with the rudder. if you touched the alerons it just tries to roll on its back. It looks like yours is dialed in and your throws my get me a good starting point.

    Hi Rob, great Dr1 flight, I've coupled my rudder as well, I've ended up with the CG at 74mm back on the centre wing, where's yours?

    • @Rcmodelgeeks
      @Rcmodelgeeks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Cliff. i have no idea where the cg is. Its as it was 3 years ago lol. will check it later and get back to you.

      @CliffHarveyRCPlanes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rcmodelgeeks Thanks, you didn't actually do a settings follow up, I know you had other things going on. The cg is pretty much as per instructions... or maybe a little in front, cheers

  • @darkiee69
    @darkiee69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The DR1s refusal to turn is true to scale. The fuselage and horizontal stabilizer cover the small rudder so no air is going over it. And that's why you should do two point landings with it and let the tail come down on its own.

    • @darkiee69

      @@pufango4059 Yeah, the "expert" who told me that flies an actual DR1, built after factory plans, with period correct methods and an original engine. So there's that.
      Check out Michael Carlsson here on youtube. He has a DVII too, built the same way.

    Is that the Hobby King 1.5m Eindecker kit? I have one waiting to go together at some point and bookmarked your build video series. Much appreciated btw since I've never done a full balsa build.

    • @Rcmodelgeeks
      @Rcmodelgeeks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @Rcmodelgeeks
      @Rcmodelgeeks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The rudder mix is around 50% rudder movement for 100% aileron. And aileron differential i just set it to give a small amount of down aileron. and normal up movement.

    Complimenti per il triplano, oltre che un bravo pilota sei anche simpatico assieme ai tuoi amici , la spider annegata nell'erba non è bella da vedere , mentre la Vespa rossa, quella si che è un ottimo affare, saluti
