I also recently got a cardinal. 1972 FG. If you don't have it yet I'd highly recommend the Powerflow Exhaust as a great upgrade! I'll be posting Cardinal content on my channel this spring as well. I'm in Washington at KEAT so I don't get quite as many flying days as you!
Very nice Flight! This is only the second TH-cam video that I’ve seen that features assess the cardinal. I know that Pilot from over 50 and learning to fly had one, but I think he sold it. Anyway, great flight, brother! Fly well!
Great vid! Subscribed. Looking for a Cardinal B myself, and I wish I could go back to flying in SoCal; CRQ, UDD, TRM were some of my student haunts. BTW: need those shoulder straps on takeoff.
They are actually changing the rules for SPL that should expand airframe coverage to planes that can do this. Right now, or with any LSA, you can do it but it will take longer, won't be able to bring as much stuff (definitely no golf clubs) and probably need a fuel stop in there.
You come to town and dont even say hi? :-) Great video man! Loved it. By the way I am putting together a group flight over to Catalina on Dec 2nd if you're interested in going over for lunch and meeting up. I have 3 or 4 planes from Phoenix going over and 3 from San Diego going over too. Let me know if you're interested.
Leaving a Cardinal door open outside while filming, that is just the right level of aviation excitement right there.
haha ya pre-door strut! :)

Congrats! WA is still a beautiful place to fly...when it is nice out :)
Great video. In the mist of purchasing a Cessna 177b. Excited for the wife and I to take trips just like this! Stay safe!!
Well done. I’ll be back out that way in March for work. Hope we can get together..DW
Thanks, D! We will definitely need to
Great video I just purchased a 1975 B model first flight Today, love it.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you found the channel!
Great video! The Cardinal is an excellent cross country plane-great visibility, comfortable and a very stable platform.
It really is! Not fast enough for the really long stuff but the "middle distances" and in-region trips it's great!
Love AZ! Great flight!
Super easy and fun flight!
great flight! welcome to Arizona!
Thanks!!!
Neat flight, you think you saved any time over flying southwest? Def had more fun i see!
We estimated that we saved 30 minutes hahaha. So not much of a saving but worth it for the adventure for sure.
Nicely done. Good story telling and appreciate the editing. Keep pressing forward and stay safe!! Cheers!!
Thanks for watching! Really appreciate the kind words!

Very cool Bill, thanks for sharing
Thanks! and thanks for watching!
Nice flight bill
Thanks, John!
TH-cam suggested your video today. Glad they did! If you want an adventure, someday, take your Cardinal to its' birthplace.
Thanks for watching!
Just stumbled on your channel. Nice vid! Love me some 177.
Awesome! Welcome :) Thanks for watching!
Arriving at night.....scary. Muy cajones.
It wasn't ideal for a first time but worked out great!

Can I do what you do with a sport pilot license

I know, man! Sorry :( but thanks! Yes, let me know the details! I'll see if I can make it. Love Catalina!
what no seat belts on take off
I noticed you weren't wearing the shoulder harnesses. Any particular reason you'd let those dangle?
The bill on your hat goes in the front. It is designed to shade your eyes from the sun.
Ooooooh! 🤣
You’re not supposed to say cockpit anymore. It’s considered sexist.
