Great Quality Video honestly I appreciate that you showed everything. Would love to see a follow up video where you talk about the ergonomics with the 3d printed stuff. I personally do not like the protective shell they offer and am just waiting on new stuff to come out.

I agree completely, the first party protective shell is alright, but have used cases from Dbrand for my ROG Ally and Steam Deck, there's much to be desired. I like the idea of a follow-up video, so once my 3D Printer comes in, I'm more than happy to do a accessories overview of some of the stuff that I create for it. After looking online, because there's so many retro handhelds that come out month to month, a lot of the bigger name companies, and even the more common ones on Amazon opt to not make accessories for those devices. So as a consumer, we're really just left to first party accessories, but hopefully the 3D printing route will alleviate some of that.

Black is the way to go to hide those borders. Plus it looks gorgeous

Absolutely! After using it for a little bit compared to some of my other devices, the seemingly non-existant bezels is amazing. It's kind of like going from a Nintendo Switch to a Nintendo Switch OLED, you don't realize just how much a bezeless design can improve aesthetic so much.

Thank you! As with all of my handhelds, I kind of baby it haha. I've gone through so many diffrerent cases before finding the one I currently use on it now. I really like the way it looks and it doesn't affect ergonomics at all.

Bit disappointed by the protector shell. It doesn't look good in my opinion and doesn't seem to improve ergonomics. How are you finding it?

Thank you for your reply! I'm feeling the same way. After using it for a while, the texture of the shell feels powdery but without actual residue if that makes sense. I've never really been a fan of Soft TPU, which I think it is, but could be wrong. I've found myself taking it off more times than I thought, mainly because I'm generally careful with the device anyways, and keep it in the carrying case. I initially bought it to also keep fingerprints off of it, but that will happen to whatever device regardless. I've looked into other cases, but there's just not many options. However I ordered a 3D printer and will try to play around with making my own case and play on doing a follow-up video if I have some success, or even if I don't.

@@takseetv a 3D printed option would be a good project. Let us know how it goes :-)

Nice unboxing & overview dude. The black model is SO clean. You picking up any of those back grips from Etsy or just using it as is?

I'm really glad that I went with black. I still think the other colors look nice, but there's just something about all black that to me personally looks just a little bit more premium aesthetic wise. So I actually just bought a 3D printer, and intend on printing some of the Retroid Pocket 5 accessories that they have available. I haven't look too deep into what's available, but after seeing the 3D printing community and what designs they have for the RP5, I want to try to print a back grip in black. The Protector Case is nice, but I would have liked it to come in black, so I'm going to try to pring that first.

@ No way!! I was thinking about picking up a 3D printer for similar stuff - accessories, stands/deco, etc. Which one did you get? So cool to be able to test out different printable designs.

@@MontoTechs I ended up getting the Bambu Labs A1. I watched a lot of video of different 3D printers as well as complexity of use, and the majority of them recommended the Bambu Labs A1 as a great starter for not only those getting into 3D Printing, but also for those who have a lot of experience. I plan on doing an unboxing, and setup of it when it comes in! I'm really excited to see what I can make with it!

I applied a screen protector to both the Mini and the Pocket 5. I screwed up the 5 badly. Tried to save it but it was a no go. Most annoying screen protector I've ever had to apply...and I also suck at it. The Mini wasn't too bad though. The smaller size helped that one. My recommendation to those that don't like to put these things on and don't have a lot of patience for it is to either get someone else to do it or buy one of the ones that only covers the screen and not the sides (where the controls are.)

How was installing the screen protector on the Mini? Did you use the Retroid one or did you get an aftermarket screen protector? I'm sorry that the Porcket 5 installation didn't go well. I've definitely had my fair share of screen protector mess ups. I see a lot of companies including 2 in their package, so I was kind of nervous installing the one on my Pocket 5 since it only came with one. Getting around the buttons is always the hard part since you HAVE to be precise.

@@takseetv It was the one from Retroid. Very easy to install that one.
