Really awesome of NECA going out of their way (as always) to give us more stuff. If these were Hasbro figures, they'd come with nothing. I do wish we could've gotten some Playmates inspired weapon accessories for them, since they've done that a few times. Still, certainly not complaining. And I can always give them some of the extra weapons from the Crooked Ninja Turtle gang.
At first I was kind pissed at how Tokka appeared to be so needy in the episode "Dirk Savage: Mutant Hunter" from season 7 of "TMNT." But then I remembered how babyish he was in "Secret of the Ooze," so I understand the transition from movie to the cartoon. I wish we had gotten more from those two guys in the cartoon,though.

Other than that somewhat recent cartoonish food items set, there's not a whole lot of stuff like this out there...not counting the dollhouse miniatures you can get from Hobby Lobby.
Tokka in the Playmates line and Tokka from this Neca set share the same body as Slash. The Mirage Slash uses the same body as this Tokka figure so its a fun homage to the old line.
Would love these and the other sets, but the shipping cost to the UK was astronomical on the haulathon site. Hoping they get put up on neca store or offered to our retailers over here. Shipping was 62 usd, neca store was 8 usd previously for reference.

Maybe this reveals my age but the original Playmates Tokka came in a lighter color, almost like a mustard yellow color and was changed to the green of your vintage Tokka, probably to reflect the movie better . I’m thinking that the ‘toon Tokka’s color might be based on the lighter, mustard yellow-ish color since those characters seem highly based on their action figures and the animation studio probably got the earlier Tokka figure to work with for reference. 🐸👍
I don't know, looking at the cartoon, the color seems right on Tokka. The episode was pretty dark in general, so maybe that might throw it off, but I think that's about right. To me, anyway.
I never saw the episode these guys appeared in. The last seasons were hard to find on television as think they changed stations in my area. hunting the complete series set down so can rewatch. accessories well I like having more food items as can use with other figures. if had a good dio/display set know how would display. never seen a yellow turtle so the color does throw me off on Tokka. Almost looks like a zombie yellowish green . sea turtles I see with that color Rahzar looks like a perfect transition to toon. minor color tweeks. Haven't seen the set yet in store. mad I started late but mostly not my fault as were hard to find, usually short on cash when did see, and I live in a heavy scalper area.
Rahzar wears the grill of a car on his chest in all three iterations. And AFAIK, Playmates' Tokka's shell at the very least was repainted from Slash (I want to say belt too, but IIRC, Slash's should have his backwards "S" instead of a Foot symbol). SotO came out in 1991, and they appeared in the cartoon in 1993, so I can absolutely see them being modeled after the toys for that (but the toys obviously came from the movie, despite any deviations in them).
The great news for those of us that weren't going to pay $150+ is they just came out at Target. Stores are getting like half a dozen or so of these guys....it's an early Christmas miracle. And last I checked they're still available on Target's site.
Any ideas where I can pick one of these two packs up? Did you manage to get these at the Haulathon online site or did you find them in an actual Target store?

They're supposed to be re-releasing them again sometime soon, end of summer/early fall last I heard. Though I think it'll be another Target event type of thing.

Probably because they didn't have enough of a budget to do all the special effects makeup and animatronic puppetry they'd need to do a proper Orko so they created a stand in character. I remember seeing Secret of the ooze and knowing that that was supposed to be Slash but for some reason (probably licencing) they had to make a knock off version.
I don't think they actually ever were in target or available in the USA. Everyone that got them seems to have gotten them via haulathon ordering international shipping to the US.

They haven't hit Target yet, or gone up on their site. More than likely, they'll be on Target's haul-a-thon site this coming Friday. Maybe in stores this week or next. Well, they'll be hitting west of the Mississippi first as always, then slowly trickling out east.

Can't find these at any Targets in the chgo burbs. Haulathon was a total disappointment for me. Great review. Glad you were able to get this set.

In the original cartoon for some reason he looked very yellow I read somewhere the theory is they made him yellow to be less scary for kids
As much as I like the NECA Cartoon Tokka and Rahzar action figures myself, I would've preferred giving the figures slightly bigger heads.

I got them off the haulathon site when they accidentally allowed US orders. Beyond that I've got no idea outside of the aftermarket for now.
