@@jnightmare0 Well, it’s more like no one wants to work for minimum wage because you can’t live off it. But all the shitty bosses don’t want to pay more so everyone says there is a “worker shortage” which just isn’t true there is a “livable job shortage” I guess. So yeah basically all the entry level positions right now suck.

@@jnightmare0 I live in Canada Ontario, the City I live in is like that. Highest Unemployment Rate. Homelessness rising quickly. I just got evicted and gotta be out in 2 days. ( I've paid on time, everytime but she wants to raise rent but she says she's moving her dad in ) Been unemployed for 3 years. ( Still have a little income though ) Housing increased AAAAAAAAAAALOT and it's past my income for a 1bdr/studio.

As an ex-amazon warehouse worker, I relate so much to this.
I was furloughed by my main job during covid and had to work as a Stower/Picker at Amazon. During initial training, it wasn't the worst. But then a lot of the similar issues you brought up had emerged within the first few weeks. The ridiculous demands to meet target and being dragged down for failing to meet them, the consequences for heading to the toilet, being stuck in a windowless, artifical warehouse and so much more. I even had my own "milk" incident where a load of vinegar in damaged containers spilt all over me. There were moments where I had major breakdowns and I wanted to leave the place after 2 weeks as I knew it wasn't for me - but stuck it out for 6 months until I knew I had nothing left in me to keep going. It wasn't the most pleasent experience and one I wouldn't want anyone else to experience.
Unfortunately, I had to go back there after a while due to furlough ending and my initial job wasn't in a place to come back. I was made Quality Assurance at the warehouse that time around and I actually enjoyed it more. It was boring but the targets were more reasonable, and I felt like the management team was a lot more friendly and professional to work with. I even thought I culd continue it for at least a year or 2. But after the christmas busy period, the work just stopped and I was soon let go as they had a mass lay off with most ground-level staff.
Thankfully, at that point, my old job that I had passion for came back and I felt I could finally move on from my time as a Warehouse worker.
Watching this vlog brought back some memories (not in a bad way!) but was a good reminder for me of why I'm glad I got out of it when I did. Sure, I still have a lot of issues with my main job especially with the current UK living crisis and having taking new steps in my life recently, but I can't deny that I'm lucky to be there and not still stuck in warehouse jobs.
Regardless, I hope everything improve for you Yami and for all those who are working minimum wages and at dingy warehouse jobs. The way big companies and agencies screw with employees is far too inhumane and deserves to be put to task about it.

Honestly if you ever want to make more videos like this just talking about things that are going on with you, with the world, in a way that you want to vent or just voice how you feel about it, I think you can do that kind of thing quite well.

Job searching seems almost impossible at this point (for me at least :l). I've been applying for jobs constantly for the past 4 months now, and have not heard anything other than "Sorry, we found someone with more experience" or "You did not have the experience we required". Like, how am I meant to get the experience if I don't even get a chance to work. I've gotten those responses from jobs that said "No Experience Required". I've had two emails from positions I applied for in 4 months, and both said I was unsuccessful but should try applying again for their other positions...yeah great, you said that the last 3+ times too 😒. I'm in a position where I don't even know how well I'll handle being in a workplace anymore, since I'm spending no time getting any experience with those environments. I've had £1 in my bank for the past 3 months, and now that's gone too.
Is anyone else struggling like this, or am I just extremely unlucky? 😅

When I had to move out, my father and mother thought I was being incredibly lazy and not wanting to search for a job but I was pumping out applications and getting no calls or getting one in a blue moon that told me that they went with someone else. I'd even call up to ask if they've seen the application just to show that I'm really interested. But never worked once. Eventually I got reccomended a job that was looking for people and was lucky enough that the job just wanted people with arms and legs to do the damn thing.

I live in a small town in England, and it's in a bad state, England in general. Tons of buildings that used to be shops, shut down and thought it was a good idea to move online. One: With more and more houses being built around here, and likely all over England, with so few shops being built to keep the balance, means even less places to get jobs at. Two: It's such a state that loads of Banks keep wanting to shut down and expect everyone to ask for help online. But, if you want to deposit money, or withdraw money, or even speak to a person in real life about a problem, it's getting to the point you can't. I get a lot of people think a cashless World is a good way to go, it is NOT. Bye-Bye childhood arcades by the seaside, giving kids pocket money to buy treats at a local shop, you can't trust someone to not ask a kid for their card if we do end up cashless, a little off-topic, sorry, but, just pointing that out there, there are other bad reasons, but I won't get into that. I'm on benefits for my health, but it's not much to live on. I tried many times in the past for a proper job, but it's either something I just can't do due to the stressful environment, on it's just too far away. Bus services used to be once every 30 minutes around here. It's now once an hour, and even if one of those buses is cancelled, you're looking at a 2-hour wait. I've had that too many times, just for trying to get out the house and travel. So, looking for a job that requires a bus, isn't happening. I only do Volunteer in relaxing places now, but in the past, I have had some terrible people during other volunteering places. I've seen how much people earn in a lot of places, and that's not much to live on with working. But, keep strong Yami.

Yeah, had a rough time myself for a few years. I got out of the Navy as a Submarine mechanic and could work on pretty much anything. I got to making tractor trailers and was pretty good but was dangerous hard work. I went over to be a Steel Worker and was pretty good at it. I had a coworker that came out of prison and still carried that mentality. He ran the machine well outside of its capacity and nearly got me killed almost everyday. I tried Reasoning but he’s literally trying to fight me at work. I quit and had a bit of a hard time till I land this current job. It’s pretty good, just catching up on finances getting as much overtime as I can.

I remember a time in retail when you couldn't escape your workplace with all the extra hours they wanted you to do (and in some cases MADE you do), now ever since 2020 companies are just SO fucking stingy they hire no new staff even when the shop desperately needs it, they double your workload, and they make you clock out the nanosecond you finish your shift. Not to mention the complete lack of stopping and prosecuting shoplifters, not hiring any sort of security to combat them, but they still whinge about losses without spending any money to stop them. But after hearing your experiences, damn... All the best my man.

I work in lidl warehouse, can’t recommend it enough tbh, secure contract, night shift hours almost 3 quid extra, canteen with cooked food provided for a quid, even a nice shop with goods that got rejected from stores. Sometimes we get free food fruit and items that dont sell. One example were like six pack of 1 ltr fantas recently, another example were boxes of grapes and sushi. Go with one of the supermarket companies. Secured job. Work benefits too!

I did a picking job at a warehouse in the UK, it was pretty good and I had no commitments to it as I was just earning money before going to work abroad. There was a guy who spoke to me about my pick rate and we could see them tracked in the cafeteria, anyway, I worked my ass off one day to see how well I could do, and it was high up there, no one said anything about it and I figured that I get paid the same either way regardless of pick rate and never worked that hard after that. Plus there were a ton of people with lower pick rates and anyone with a high one weren't following procedure correctly and on top of that, you kinda had no choice but to wait sometimes for a multitude of reasons completely out your control.

So crazy to think I watched your content as a teen with no work experience, now as an adult, I can see that our struggle (The working class) is truly universal. I have only had one job that was barely acceptable, and that was only because the wages were adequate to provide me a minimum level of comfort. The amount of crazy bullshit we deal with in labor jobs is insane! Remember that any work place can form a union, you do not need the permission of your supervisor or business owner, not even laws can stop the working class from organizing. I have been intimidated time and again for advocating for my workplaces. Every worker deserves to labor in a place that at the barest minimum provides living wages (Not living paycheck to paycheck) and a safe workplace! Stay strong Comrade!

Worked at Amazon in Peterborough; constantly on your ass about everything you do and you get told "no talking" to passerbys like you're in high school. Worst thing was the breaks. You had 2 30 minute breaks but no matter where you are when picking; it takes 10 minutes to walk to the front to your locker to get your bag and lunch and 10 minutes to get back. Both which they expect you to take out of your break time to walk that instead of walking 10 minutes early or even 5 to walk to put up your scanner. So that left me 10 minutes to eat and then go back to work; a total of 20 minutes of break for a 10 hour or so shift on minumum wage. Every permanant employee got to chat about, chill out, and just vibe whilst Agency gets treated like absolute garbage. Spoken to like you're a child. They also said they provided transport and didn't mention in the ad that it was time limited. So after 2 months they sent a text saying, "All provided transport will be canceled come January 7th. If you can not provide yourself with transport to work, we appreciate the help you've provided." So, "sorry no more transport and we didn't mention shit about it going away until now, anyways see ya later if you can't make it in anymore." Everyone left after getting that message from them. I stayed up until the end and it went from a literal thousand or more people in the warehouse, to maybe 10 or less people picking items. They didn't give a fuck about the loss of the workers which was so bizzare to me. But whatever, I'm in a wood factory now and the company is great, I get minimum wage +15% for working rotation shifts for 8h a day which is infinitely better than a 10-12h shift. Job has its challenges and they try and treat everyone the same, agency or not.

  • @CeeCeeismadYT
    @CeeCeeismadYT 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

As someone who used to work in agency I can confirm how down trodden they are. I worked in a chocolate factory and a lot of my shifts depended on how early I turned up. If I turned up on time, there was a chance that I would get sent home with only 4 hours pay. So in order to actually have a shift, I had to turn up 1 hour early and sign in. This happened to me at least once a week due to how far I had to travel to get to work (which was 2 buses plus a 15 minute walk to the factory, plus another half hour wait between each bus). I did 3 12 hour night shifts a week and I had very little sleep in between so eventually I left as it was effecting my mental health. Don’t get me wrong I would love to work there again but only if I moved closer to the factory and if I was employed by the company and not agency.
The place I work at now is no different, but this time I live closer and I work for the company, however it’s not much better.

Working in retail is just terrible. I’ve heard so many horror stories, and how it can affect you not only physically, but mentally as well and it definitely shouldn’t be considered a job that you should stay on for a lifetime.
A guy that I know told me that working in retail is so bad that at least in the US they don’t let you sit and the reason why they don’t let you sit the logic behind it is because it’s an equivalent to laziness which is not true that’s like saying that to work in the office you have to be standing up on the computer And trust me you are going to kill your back when you work on the register standing up.

Keep it up Yamimash. Rooting for you from the US. Been watching you since 2013 back in high school. Sorry you had very bad experiences especially with the milk spilling on you. Expired milk is super bad. Worse that its been sitting there for weeks.

I can relate to this. As an immigrant living on my own, I need to make a living no matter what. I had terrible experiences on these warehouses where the Polish holds sway, and they were a NIGHTMARE!. If I don't speak Polish, I'm OUT! Come on man this is the UK, not POLAND. Seriously, these people are cold, joyless, and soulless. They've made the entire place feel like hell. Even the British were scared of them smh... Anyways, just a message for everyone out there going through this struggle - keep it up, you'll make it. Bless.

This channel really is kind of dead. But when you are at the bottom, you can always slowly climb up. Stay blessed, and things can improve if you work for it.

Yeah, a person from the states here (unfortunately), you either haven't worked or are in a position given to you on a platter. We have horrendous benefits, a terrible minimum wage, and a ridiculous cost of living. Please pipe down when the adults talk.
