There are no solos, no slow bits with Hatebreed but, the more you listen to them, the more they grow on you. Also they have a super-positive message always. They can give a person strength when they need it the most.
What other bad displays this dynamic?: 1.) You have a negative experience or emotion, 2.) BUT you find a way to transform the negative to a positive. Most bands either: a.) Simply vent negativity, and simply wallow in that despair (ie. Like the time with some grunge-era songs), it b.) Try to be "happy" and positive, while we all know that this simply is real. It's not true. Life is full of "ups and downs" that can't be just ignored. Hatebreed STARTS OFF with acknowledging the reality: it CAN BE (at times) a cold hard world. However, they then remind us of the POSITIVE: DESPITE the fact that it's a hard tough world, we need to be strong and persevere THROUGH the negativity to become STRONGER. I've never heard a band that can convey BOTH of these messages, in the same song, the way Hatebreed can. Imo, they're musical geniuses that aren't given enough credit for their art. Just my opinion.
A friend of mine is or was a big hate breed fan. He met the guys in that band a bunch of times, said their good dudes. Not quite my style. Closest thing I experienced to them is I went to biohazard show once back in the 90s
