I still don’t get it… They came up with a responsive (mobile-friendly) slide creation software with a magazine-like UI experience and a query system (I assume pretty much the same as making a search in pdf) and that’s the revolution?
People will still have to sketch those slides, have endless meetings on the wording and decide which data is best to present with which visual…
But its Edward Norton, you are just supposed to buy whatever a celebrity peddles on TV.

Hey!… I like making slide decks. PowerPoint, Prezio, Keynote.. it’s all fun/easy.
BUT, in a way the tools are too capable for most users. Which leads to a lot of really really bad slide decks getting made.
The governance functions of minute meetings for entrepreneurs would be helpful for sure

Good for Ed! I've studied how to create a compelling story using data for over a decade and have recommended this exact strategy to anyone asking for help with a pitch deck. Just as in marketing research, it's very important to have a story-driven narrative, with data there to back everything up. Also, less is more and if you confuse, you lose. Separately, little surprised that no one addressed the 500lb missing tooth in the room.

I like Edward as an actor, but he speaks like someone who has never had to put together presentations, only the person who is presented to. The process of thinking, and telling stories, is facilitated through slide presentations, which are just collections of ideas in a sequence. Of course there are bad ones, but that isn’t the software, it’s the people behind it. Moreover, the new formats he is talking about are problematic because they can’t be printed or saved in traditional formats. “No one is using excel” - really, Edward? perhaps it is you that is out of touch, hanging out with too many tech bros. “Oh, the bain of being on boards, suffering through presentations by the hardworking plebes; if they were only as smart as I am”. Please.
