G'day Kev, I stopped using full chisel years ago it's king in soft wood but in the hardest woods especially those found west of the devide and your coastal species once that point is dull it's all over, your theory about saw dust and bandsaws is correct as explained to me by a Creswick graduate, all blades should have vertical orientation which allows gravity to remove the waste in the Northern hemisphere their soft wood and soft hard wood allows for a horizontal bandsaw to function. But in our hardest woods the build up of dust under the horizontal blade causes friction heat and expansion of the blade now that it's lost it's tension it starts to go up and down like a new brides oh I Meant like the waves in the ocean 👍.
