      Tampa, too. Central Florida in general was the place to be back then. Special time in history for sure. I just wrote a similar comment to yours on another Florida breakbeat video saying what was happening in Central Florida back then musically, culturally, and socially wasn't happening anywhere else in the world. Special moment in history for sure and I'm so glad I was a part of the crowd who soaked it up. We tasted heaven on earth for sure.

      @@hwilson60 Went there every now and then after graduating high school to pick up a few vinyls whenever I had a bit cash from my min wage job. Min wage was 6.25, so that wasn't too often. Now the min wage is $10 but snowflake activists are still complaining it's not $15 🙄 - bet they never experience slaving away for it like I did back then.
      Too bad they closed down. Guess they couldn't compete with iTunes and other online shops as everything went digital.

    Infiniti defined the southeast from 99 to 2005. This guy was special. His records resonated with so many people. When the UK was hitting hard with imported NU SKOOL breaks at the time, Infiniti was the primary guy whose records not only stood up but squashed all imports. Adam Freeland, General MIDI, Above & Beyond, Breakfastaz, Plump DJ's, Elite Force, Freestylers, Tipper, Staircase, Hybrid, All of em'... Dude could drop a single...pressed on both sides of the plate and charge an import price and EVERYONE would pay for it. If you got him to do your remix...your shit would sell out. That's how hot he was. I still have every 12" that was pressed with his name. Even the tracks not under his name.

      You said it perfectly Michael and I 100% agree! His wife did the flyers for an event I was doing and I was on my way to Miami for Ultra and they lived on the way so I stopped by their house to pick them up. Dude, Infiniti comes walking out of the bedroom in his boxers and says 'What's up?' Mind blown! He was so chill and laid back, We all chatted for hours, talked about drugging him (Infiniti) to put him to sleep, put him in a badass RV (fear of travel too far from home aka his comfort zone? Unclear of all that reasoning) and don't wake him till we reached Club LaVela in PCB where he'd put on one hell of a live show. Was and is one of my favorite memories from that whole time period. SO glad I was there for the whole Florida Breaks movement!

    There were producers like him, Jackyll & Hyde, Hip-E & Red Void that were just ahead of their time. That's what made their sound stand out. This guy had some ethereal connection to some higher dimensions, I called it 'trance breaks' when I was dj'ing back in the late 90's early 2000s ... it just took you somewhere (like trance does) but it had that break-beat. Nothing like in in the Universe

      It’s the flow he adds with the build up and break downs that take you on that ride with slamming beats to keep your heart pumping. Born and raised in Orlando and there no other like Infiniti. Icey and baby Anne came close but Infiniti killed it.

    • @michaelhart9268
      @michaelhart9268 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you pulled out the broken beats and replaced them with 4/4 kick drums, some of his tracks would've been trance hits. "Running Away", "Inside Your Soul", 2AM mix of "Get Fresh" Silverblue's "Do You Know" infiniti remix and Dave London's "Breathe Deep" infiniti remix are a few trance breaks that come to mind. I'd put some of Dave London's stuff in this category as well...Spacemen too!

    eyes rolling in the back of my head, either cause im doing it or someone is shooting vix in my face, jaw so tight i could try out to be a ventriloquist, closing my eyes and seeing another reality, talking to people who are not even near me. Getting a massage from random chicks, hot or not, it didn't matter at that point....sigh...Orlando Downtown. Was 16 when i got in my first club (H20) and i had to pay the door man $20 to get in with my other underage friends. Popped a red mitsubishi and a trip stack igloo before getting there. Had kickers as a setup in a turbo eagle talon. omfg....best night of my life. Dj 8on, Infinity, baby anne...No music even comes close to this classic shit. Orange gators on my 21st bday in 2002. One of my friends dropped the Children of the 80s tune just as i was blowing up. Searched high and low for that tune and eventually found it on this mix. Listening to this mix almost 20 years later, memories of sunrise rides home and ears ringing from the clubs, I don't see how we did it, somehow we did it, it was the collective consciousness of our culture.

      I remember seeing Infinity rippin wax with DJ Magic Mike at a daytime rave on the beach I think it was in PSL, they did the 2001 Remix...but it was one of the best raves...I started blowin up in 98 at a club in Palm Bay called Party Central aka Club Harmony
      Harmony...and I believe Rick West was the resident DJ (may he RIP) Some of my best times was at that Club..you mentioned the sunrise and idk how tf we made it but we did..we would all meet in the parking lot n discuss where the after party was n we would all follow each other! Looked like a long ass line of cars headed to a funeral...I miss that time...and I met some kick ass people that I'm still friends with today...i LOVE the music back then...and I have been following Abrown212 here on TH-cam and he's got soooo many amazing songs on his playlists...like songs that I completely forgot about...and OMG!!! Masquerade, Empire, Turtle Club, Crush, InExtremis, Parthanon and many more....the clubs scene sucks here now. The underground dance music is lame, and raves....what are they? Lol. I have been looking for this mix for YEARS. I was given a cd in Atlanta in 2003 with this exact mix but it was labeled as DJ KRE-8. I have always looked for it under that name. Finally I searched for sweet dreams breakbeat and found that it was actually Infiniti. I guess someone just stole the mix and labeled as their own?
    Either way I had many life changing/defining moments with this mix as a soundtrack

    Infinity is one of Breaks' best. Still got a few vinyls, Get Fresh and I think Children of the 80s. Looked on Discogs to see what Children of the 80s goes for now, and they are freakin expensive! ($100-120 for one record)

    Why does this mix remind me of a cross of trance with breaks with a little d&b

    • @michaelhart9268
      @michaelhart9268 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Trance elements for sure...but breaks at it's core. This was Florida's sound in the early 2000's.

    • @jona5517
      @jona5517 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah Florida breaks started to become more progressive with elements of trance during the late very 90s early 2000s. Although some of these tracks are a bit older. We also had Jungle, Drum n' Bass, Trance, Miami Bass, hip-hop, Gothic/Industrial, Big Beat....at least in Tampa. But it was mostly breaks. Man I miss those days!

      Michael Hart actually looking for something by Infiniti Is indeed a mix of his original tracks and remixes. So yes it is totally a mix it was licensed in record stores when i bought it 👌🏼

      Details here. It is a mixed album by Infiniti aka Scott Christina

      @@DjTecniq I was reading it as if Jesus was looking for more DJ mixes by Infiniti, which he's only got a few that only feature a few of his own tracks or remixes. He did in fact "Mix" these songs to be continuous (originals & remixes) so you could technically call it a mix. All these songs were released as singles and b-sides on vinyl before this compilation dropped and under a multitude of different record labels. I would probably call it a compilation of bangers later packaged as a CD album for consumers and not just DJ's. I remember buying this CD along with the Spacemen self titled album as well at FYE at the same time. Hit the damn double jackpot!
