Since they can punch freely with other hand it wont stop punches. But it does make opponent predictable. Maia used to do this to get underhook from half guard in mma
The important part is, it works, whatever you call it... ikkyo, 2-on-1, I believe it had a German name in a fechtbuch... But I learned how to use it after I started BJJ.
Its cool and all but I would call the opposite of conceptual jj. The is super specific technique based jj. Concept based jj would be: "always keep your head over your hips when passing the guard" 😇
Bought this series last night. Need to watch all of it now.

These are the details that make a massive difference. Thank you Rob for sharing your knowledge
Amazing detail! @6:00
These details from Rob via BJJConcepts changed my guard game! I wrote off this 2 on 1 grip as a strength move until he explained these details
I'm so glad to hear it!
Great content as always! Thanks for service to the BJJ community.
You are very welcome Freddy

@@StephanKesting details make a world of difference and it's part of improving technique. Work smarter not harder. Keep up the good work
Great video! Any thoughts on how effective this 2 on 1 grip would be if punches were involved? (from closed and opened guards)... Thanks
