'No matter what I do, what style or genre, it's always going to have that Chicane sound'. Nick Bracegirdle -- Chicane.
No bad thing, at all, especially when you listen to the new release.. The expression 'hot off the heels' does not apply, when talking about the timing of Chicane albums. The tracks are crafted, caressed and encouraged into shape, and that takes time. Thousand Mile Stare is the latest Chicane album to have that attention applied to it. Anyone looking to tap into what has kept Nick Bracegirdle busy the last twelve months will not be disappointed by what they hear on this release. Indeed, anyone who hasn't heard a Chicane album could do worse than to start here. Unashamedly, it is an album and, to that end it's emotive power is sublime. Two tracks on the album were recorded partly in Iceland and feature the Icelandic band, Vigri (who are a veritable madcap orchestra). If I had to sum this album up it would be 'a collection of life soundtracks' said Nick.
It is some fifteen years now since Offshore first became the default setting of Trance, resonating and infiltrating everyone's visits to Ibiza and an anchor in their memory to halcyon days (no pun intended). This album proves that the beauty and willingness of Chicane to supply 'soundtracks to our lives' really is alive and well.
In-between recording, the band have been touring the world playing live shows, a process that Nick Bracegirdle feels gives him the balance needed to keep a perspective on the way he creates. They will of course be doing more of the same with a new show to promote Thousand Mile Stare. There will be a London Thousand Mile Stare show on April 27th at Koko, with some guest surprises.

I love it, little crazy in the middle, makes you really love the rest. Like that quote from vanilla sky, sweet isn't as sweet without the sour.
He does make mistakes now and again guys. My favourite artist of all time....but yes he did go over the edge in this one.

Brilliant, until 1;57, then its even more brillianter =D love this, it builds up well, gets banging, then chills out again for a bit, until the 2nd pill is dropped, then it gets going again, tried and tested formula granted, but its my kinda music =) xxx

There has to be another mix of it out there somewhere without the middle piece. I think Nick was scared of losing the hardcore dance brigade.
It depend on how you see it . But yes I think the intense beats at 1.57 are OTT but it still makes for a great record.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I love the aggressive breakdown in the middle. It just adds to the complexity and layers of the song. The whole track is awesome.

please all of you chicane fans check out the icelandic band Vigri.that worked with him on this song and the song Hljop It is really emotional.
It's just the bridge, goes back to the melody piece after about a minute. It's mood, peaceful then clashes with obscurity and rolls you back home. Too bad you didn't buy the album I guess.

I have no idea what you are talking about....you can't always expect a melodic track to be peaceful,you must have a form of breakdown so it has both a peaceful sound and a epic sound at the same time
