The short story is often attributed to Jules Verne, but in actuality it was most likely written by his son Michel Verne. Some of the things stated in his short story are out there in The Ether. But one never knows how much humanity's leaps will change the next 10 to 20 centuries, only time can tell.
I love the inclusion of what amounts to TH-cam or Facebook, right at the beginning. Jules Verne got a heck of a lot right, although his timing was a bit off.
Nor are they a thing in this tale, the news is transmitted down phonelines. There are far more things wrong than there are right in this tale; no space travel, 1000mph hyperloops, intelligent life on other planets of the solar system, no television, a single media magnate being de facto ruler of the world - oh wait, that may not be far off. Also 'amusing' that there is only one woman in the entire tale and she is basically a piece of fluff.
To the new thinkable website in the year 2889 by Jules Verne is good but can you please do a full read along of the sinister sphere by Frederick c Davis and blood on the moon by Frederick c Davis and will you have thunder Jim wade by Henry kuttner
Did the math, assuming 3% annual inflation over 920 years, 10 billion dollars would be what we consider 1.5 cents.
Guy sold a single newspaper

10 billion dollars in the 2981 from “newspapers”
Might turn out to be accurate. With inflation and the hipster market to sell papers too.
