For me, it was way before that.. He had always been such a force of nature since Dream in a Dream (esp the dance practice) and Hit the Stage. Also all his live performances with SuperM (esp Tiger Inside), WayV (esp Turn Back Time) and NCT (esp during AAA 2020) had always been impressive. Plus he is extremely charming and cute!
Idk but when SM asks him what he wants he says hey let's try this and that and that. Bruh I'm so happy he asked for his due for his album. You're right Ten cannot be contained in a box that would be a travesty.

Like he has that presence she only felt with a very few artists. And she has been to so many kpop concert since 2nd gen. Also a lot of people who became his fans after seeing him perform live, say the same thing - how his performance just blew them away. Like how a Japanese fan who went to SMTOWN concert to support other artists became his fan and wrote a very detailed essay of her experience on seeing Ten perform live and how she's never been this captivated about an artist before. And i could totally relate!
Ten was all over this. He has always been all over his solo stuff. He said he wants to be an artist who always brings something different he never wants to be stuck in a box or one lane. He wants to experiment. You'll never catch him slipping and doing the same thing twice. He made an album with songs that can stand alone.
I'm convinced Ten is now part of the small group SM lets go wild with creativity for their solos. Although, Ten has really had to fight for it, just like Key did. I just strongly believe that there are specific artists who were born to perform and born to create, because their ideas and creativity sometimes feel so incomprehensible and out of reach. I honestly don't understand how they have the capacity to be this creative. For me, Ten is up there with Taemin and Key for creativity. One thing though, is that SM has so many artists but only a few have full solo albums outside their groups. Who knows how many potential creative albums are out there floating, waiting to be done. Anyway, I'm so proud of Ten. He deserves all the love and so much more for his consistent hard work and dedication towards his music.

@@heylo757 oh my goodness, it would be awful if they did that. He really is so talented and still so young. I'm glad he has mentors and people who support and encourage his creativity too, like Taemin and Yunho. I hope he sticks to it and hope that they let me take direction of it too.

I am late to this trying to catch up on reactions, but yes Ten out of Ten! He ate with that choreo, and the vocals!!! It has been weeks, and Nightwalker melody just haunts me. I find it running through my head at random times. He got me. I love this song and album. Simply put, Ten is an exceptional, well-rounded artist.
