    In this trip i head off into the woodland to do a spot of hammock camping at the bushcraft camp but sadly the weather was playing ball with us but we did manage to do a bit of building at the camp .

    Great video. Looks like a great camp too. Enjoyed the rendition of the frog chorus. Not too sure Paul McCartney would say the same. Hopefully you pull my name out for the twig burner. Looks like a good bit of kit. All the best for 2021. Look forward to next video. 👍🏻

    I gotta agree about the Jura 2. It's a pretty decent bag just not as warm as DD make out. I'd say it's a 3 season bag at best.

    • @mdmoutdooradventures
      @mdmoutdooradventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah for sure only a 3 season at best so looks like this winter i will be switching back to the British army arctic bag 👍

    I like the Firebox stoves, too late to win that one. I have a couple, only used one so far. I'm more into my spirit burner, trangia knock off. They're best for stealth- least noise. Most of the reason land owners up here get miffed is when people have fires, so I don't-a Firebox stove is as big as it gets. Two passed a month ago, a metre away and didn't see me or hear me. I wasn't filming just getting out.

    • @mdmoutdooradventures
      @mdmoutdooradventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then spirit stoves are great 👍 I also have a trangia knock off one and use it alot , bit of a bugger to get going if its cold but still good bits of kit 👌

    Good work on the fire reflector Marc, looks very tidy. As for the Jura 2, I still like mine, but stick to my opinion that its a 3 season bag at the most. Regards Al.

      Cheers Allan 👍Yeah I dont personally think its any good for winter , at max a 3 season .

    I've been looking at getting a Jura 2, glad I haven't yet. I'll keep looking.
    Rick enjoyed the frog song waaay too much 😂😂 i wish he did that when I camped with him, although, in fairness it was a deluge of a complete piss down....
    Nice vid, i enjoy your 'down to earth, fuck it' way.... Its refreshing for TH-cam
    Stay safe, look after Rick, and take care, Ray

      Cheers Ray 👍 some people take bushcraft and youtube way too seriously but for me its a hobby and something I enjoy doing and also sharing my experiences with people but if somthing don't go to plan I wont be crying or stressing about it , its a case of fuck it oh well that just happened and that went wrong lol

    Drinking beer out of a flask now are we? Almost chipped me leg off on my last outing, felt the axe do a close fly by... Tree was soft/rotten on the outer part and then a frozen solid core that the axe did not bite.

    • @mdmoutdooradventures
      @mdmoutdooradventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh it wasn't beer 😂 i know what you mean about axes im always paranoid about sticking it in my leg . One lapse in judgment is all it takes and bang off to hospital 😔

    Great Vid, Shame about the Jura 2, I've not bothered hammock camping yet, prefer to keep the profile of my shelter low which helps if the air temp is low. I have the 3x3 tarp, but not sure I would get more DD kit. Cheers :)

    • @mdmoutdooradventures
      @mdmoutdooradventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 👍. Yeah im not sure about DD gear anymore , the quality seems to have gone down hill in recent months because they have change where they get it made 😔

    Temp ratings are funky, comfort rating is generally the as low as it can go with out shivering. But lately I have seen many do «mens comfort rating» using the t-limit as their number. Now that is some proper bs.

    • @mdmoutdooradventures
      @mdmoutdooradventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have to agree with you on that 👍 no way will the jura 2 and the DD underblanket go down to -5

    Hay mar, What fuel do you run your lamp on? And how long do you get per tank?

    • @mdmoutdooradventures
      @mdmoutdooradventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I run it on proper lamp oil and I think you get about 12 to 16 hours out of a full tank

    Marc, I love what you do and understand it. However I do have a constructive comment or criticism. Generally you guys are fine, but after last nights government drop on us, what has happened to the social distancing? As I say generally everything you do appears to be fine until I see two people not 2 metres apart and no mask. Do you not get that 1 person that shows no symptoms can go home and in the 14 days following pass it on to another 10 people and those continue the process. I am not suggesting that you stop. I am suggesting that you think and be a little more careful, so that your family and friends can continue watching what many of us are unable to do. It is my own thoughts on what I see. Please stay safe.
    Rach

      Don't worry Rachael I have personally been tested a number of times now in recent months and when I go to work or shopping im very carefull and for most of this campimg trip myself and Rick was further away from each other than it looks on camera also this wasn't filmed lastnight . Don't worry we wasn't cuddled up in the tent together haha
